| The art this episode seemed kind of off ... >_< Other than that another flashback with a conflict with a drug company and the surrounding populace, not much action in terms of the actual Juuni Taisen, except that Horse and Tora were able to burn off the arms. I guess that's the way to deal with the corpses then! I hadn't realized that one brother used flames and the other uses freezing until this episode lol. Either way we've only got four character backstories left, and I'm super excited for Usagi's ... I wonder what happened with him XD |

| Backstory about a charachter noone cares about and will end up dying anyway in the next episode, of course the animation quality horrible, also the death will be censored if shown at all, and the fight mostly be lipservice with about 2 min action also probably Rat wins, I should have stopped watching this when hearing about Katanagatari was the other "masterpiece" of Juuni Taisen author. Worst battle royale anime I have ever seen,you know this anime trash when even Ousame game looks like a masterpiece compared to it. 2/10 |
| The fact that this show relies heavily on long flashbacks that can take up almost an entire episode is what I think is the very weakness of this show. So pretty much everyone except one person is gonna die, because it's that kind of a tournament. Since the participants are still normal human beings, despite their superhuman-like combat abilities, they can be killed in one shot, and are indeed killed one by one in one shots. Okay, I can see that. Nothing wrong with it, I guess. However, in order to give some substance to each character, they show a long detailed flashback before yanking their head off of their neck. Killing them without giving them any detail would make them worthless as a common fodder henchman, so they want the viewers to know these characters, maybe even care about (or hate) them, especially since they're gonna die after said flashback. Unfortunately, the end for each character is so mundane and anticlimactic, it just feels like it's all for naught. Maybe it's just me, but why should I really care for any of them if this is how they're gonna end up as? What's the point of building up all these stakes for those characters, when they're gonna just follow this one pattern and get most anticlimactic demises? Especially so, considering that the ED credit pretty much spoiled the death order anyway. It seems like there's just no thrill or dynamic suspense with this show. All the meat and juice of the story are in the flashbacks, which are just not fun at all for me, because they don't really change the outcome in anyway what so ever. Yes, 11 out of 12 people are suppose to die. I get it. However, instead of trying to make those 11 deaths as most thrilling and exciting as possible, the makers of this show are doing nothing but throwing flashbacks after flashbacks into the viewers' faces. What fun is there? I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling. This show still isn't too bad, but it ain't that fun either if you ask me. |

| Seems like there's mixed opinions on the Snake & Dragon episodes. I actually liked them both. Most interesting backstory out of those introduced thus far. |

| Well written episode. No major inconsistencies. Although again, the use of that unfitting fire effect seems unnecessary. |

| I can't remember the last time I've watched something which such a drastic drop in animation. Holy hell. Usually I notice it in shows that are already silly so the derp faces blend in, but since this series is suppose to be serious, it's sooo bad. It was a shame, too. I actually really like the incredibly grey morals between the two. They could have had a bit more personality, but them giving money to the kid's brother to get better and then after his vision comes back, accidentally killing the brother? And they are like well, prayer and god is a lie, here is some money, sorry about that. It makes me wonder if they just descended into this chaos since one of them would die in the Zodiac War one day, more likely both. I mean, why not if everything is engulfed in chaos anyway. |
