I'm so disappointed, it's not worth giving up one's career nor giving up one's freedom for something like this: despite that I still love Rurouni Kenshin: that's not going to change - his career is one thing and his personal life is another but after this I wonder if we'll ever get to finish to read the sequel manga of Rurouni Kenshin now for those who still wish to continue following the story. I admit he's my top favorite manga male artist but after this incident now I already see him in different eyes: what a shame. -_- @lovelikewine I agree, Rurouni kenshin is a part of my youth too; the story is completely innocent from all this and has nothing to do with his personal life and I'm not throwing away something I cherish. ;) |

| I haven't gotten into the series yet, but I feel really awful for the fans who looked up to him because no one knew he was fucked in the head. I fully understand the stigma behind pedophilia and that it's sick and wrong and there's a desperate need for treatment, but Watsuki I think was fucked either way because he lives in Japan. So he confessed to it, he always knew he was messed up in the head, but what could he have done? He couldn't tell anyone about it, and even if he did, where was he going to get help? Where could he have gone for therapy/treatment? He kept it to himself, and it festered into what it's become today, and now he has to suffer the consequences for the rest of his life, but he'll never get the proper treatment he needs.
