I really would rate Mononoke with ~ 9 for example, but I couldn't bring myself through episode 3 or 4. ^^" same with Texhnolyze and Lain. They just felt so dry and if I don't have the urge to keep on, I'll give it up. That doesn't mean that they are bad. I didn't finish them and it would look weird to see a dropped anime with a score of 9 in your list. XD

Personally highly rated - no.
It might happen though in case I cannot find time to watch it or decided to wait until it is completed.

I dropped Chii's sweet home but I gave it a 10. This was because I am not worthy of completing it. Usually when I drop something I straight on give it a 1 even if it deserves a 4.

Usually for shows that are highly rated, I'll definitely give it more thought than shows that are lower rated (in terms of when I feel like dropping it) but that's about it. Like if a show is highly rated, then I'll power through another episode or two to see if I can see the potential in why it's highly praised, but if it still doesn't appeal to me, then I will drop it regardless. An example of this is Monster. It has a rating of 8.69, but I was a bit bored through all the episodes that I've seen + I can't stand old art/animation.

I dropped Saint Seiya franchise because of the very low quality of the first season.

I just dropped compulsive gambler since the premise bored me, but it actually was a good anime if you're into that type of plot. Anyways, just as the title says would you drop a personally high rated anime?

So if you aren't "personally" into it, how can you call it a "personally high rated" anime???

He won't answer you, he just makes shit threads that don't make sense to enjoy the mess. It's been almost half a year, I wonder why people keep taking him seriously.

I'm not one to watch an anime based on what people think because I know everyone has different opinions on everything. I watch an anime because it interests me so, yes, even if most people enjoyed an anime but I personally didn't, I would drop it. I haven't encountered that yet though. The only anime I've ever dropped was Vampire Knight but I think it's just because I'm over my vampire phase lol though I'm not sure if it's a high rated anime or not, but that's the only one I've ever dropped.

I will drop an anime if I'm not enjoying it or it's boring to me. Ratings and other people's opinions has NOTHING to do with me dropping an anime.

Well if the only subtitles I can find are shit or my only option is to watch it raw I'm gonna drop it.
There's also shows like Toradora which I dropped not because they're bad but because I don't think it's the show for me. Though from what I watched still wouldn't give Toradora a super high rating since yknow.. I don't like it that much.

I never drop anime and I never will, I'd rather watch it all the way.
I used to be the same way. Then I realized life is too short and there's too much anime out there to waste my time watching trash.

No, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to finish it either. This is what your "On-Hold" list is for by the way.

No. Everything listed on my droplist landed there because I found it boring and uninteresting, so it's only natural that I rated it low.

I drop a lot of anime. I'm not completionist, and I don't like to waste my time. If I'm watching an very beloved anime but I'm not enjoying it 50% of the way thought I'll drop. Heck, I'll probably drop within one or two episodes if I don't enjoy it, I don't wait till I'm 12 in.

I only ever drop anime I don't enjoy, so that means it won't ever have a high rating either.

A personally high rated anime? Um sure I guess? Not like all the shows I drop because I think they're bad, most are dropped because they're not within my or can't hold my interest. I can still see many others enjoying many of them.

Ohhh, because of the sudden oppai-grab scene... I get you now...

I doubt it. If I drop a show then I always think it deserves to be on the negative end of the scale.

I have dropped anime I liked because they weren't easily available through legal means anymore.... For the most part, I do try to watch things legally. So, when a service suddenly stops carrying a show, eh, sometimes I just stop watching it. Maybe something happens in it that just, makes me think it is "too intense" or "needs a dub to enjoy".... yeah subtitles going too fast has been an issue on a few titles.

I watched 7 episodes of Sweetness & Lightning in one day, I enjoyed it and I liked all the characters, I thought they were endearing, but the next day when I wanted to continue watching I was like "Nah, I'll watch something else" because I'm not a fan of cooking and the series was episodic so I felt like I won't be missing anything if I dropped it, still enjoyed it though

I dropped Monster because it got kind of boring for me to watch, I couldn't find the motivation to start the next episode even though it was a good anime. 50 episodes is a lt man. Psycho Pass was also pretty good, I just had to force myself to watch the next episode.

Although I had to force myself to watch the next episode a few times in Kino no Tabi, and once I got my wheels rolling on that it became my favorite anime...

Dropped Gintama 2015 and TTGL even though I really like them... The reason is because I don't have time to finish them as I used to :(
