For me a series doesn't need to be perfect in every aspect but when watching it something needs to click in my brain that tells me "this show is amazing". Maybe it was characters I love, a story that gave my heart beat fast with excitement etc. 9/10's are also favorites, but they don't click in my brain like my 10/10's.

So what would you consider a 10/10?

I give an anime a 10 if it has a compelling premise that develops into a definitive conclusion. It needs to grab me, keep me, and have a satisfying ending.

- The show has an actual conclusion/ending,
- Is entertaining,
- Has memorable character(s)
- Doesn't have a generic degenerate male template of a character and if it has, it tries to diminish his importance to that of a random statist/background-filler person. Look up Another for an example. Alternatively, said protagonist is given an ACTUAL personality or other traits than alleviate his appearance (Konosuba for example)

- The show makes me want to binge watch it in case all its episodes are out (ongoing series limit quantity of episodes i can watch in one sitting and if it's enticing, well...you should get the idea)

Hmm i think those are about all my prerequisites.

I would never consider a show "perfect". For me a 10/10 is a show i enjoyed every episode to the fullest. No, i don't even have to enjoy EVERY episode but as long as the show left a mark on me, made me think about a lot if things, and simply got a special place in my heart -that's it. I always find something they could have done better, and plot holes or bad animation is something that might make the show less good and bla bla my sentences are too long...

I give a show a 10 when i have the feeling it deserves it. In my case thats mostly bc of the enjoyment and not bc idk the OP wasn't good.

I don't have a set criteria in terms of quality for what makes a 10/10. Every anime is different and I'd find myself making too many changes to it, so it comes down to two things which apply to every anime regardless of what it's trying to achieve: the impact the show had, which is largely based on enjoyment, and how much I value it. There are some 9s on my list that are generally better shows than some 10s, but I won't rate them 10/10 because I didn't enjoy them as much.

They're just the very,very best anime I've ever seen in pretty much every aspect and even if they have some flaws I gladly overlook them,cause their pros usually outweigh the cons (if they have any) big time for me.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Let me see what it says on my profile:

"Amazing, one of my favourite anime! - This rating is reserved for anime that I connected with on a personal level."

Basically something that has a really good story, good characters, and was directly in the way that it deserves. It's hard for an anime to meet my standards for a 10.

The two 10-rated series for me so far have;

* Great voice actors
* Depth
* Amazing soundtrack (at least one of them)
* No/few cliches
* Compelling writing/story
* Appealing characters

A 10 out of 10 show for me is a show that's just brilliant. I've watched quite a bit now and so far, only two of them, I gave a 10 out of 10. These are shows that stayed on my mind for a while after watching them, they also both have brilliantly written characters that are actually nescescary to move the story forward and aren't just there without actual purpose. The show also must not have any character that happens to piss me off badly, which is quite easily done. Another heavy influence of how I portray the series is the music, as that steers the mood. But most of all, the plot has to be unlike every other show, in a way that it keeps me intrigued.

copy+paste from my blog

- It fits my preferences of the type of anime I like (which is usually action, super power,...)
- Have the ability to easily move my emotion (no matter if it is intended or not)
- I don't find any of the main cast annoying
- I find myself very attached to one or more of the main cast (and other major characters)
- The relationship between the characters must be deep and great enough to born a new OTP or major ship (Gintama is the only exception to this rule so far, the relationship between main cast is certainly deep but I don't have OTP nor major ship in Gintama)
- Glorious music to add to epic moments is a plus
- Distinctive and somewhat original story in it's own way
- Must contain some form of bromance or very deep or complicated bond between the main cast
- Has multiple epic, unforgettable moments
- I find myself extremely hyped everytime I watch it
- I find myself rewatch it unlimited times
and the most important:
- I find myself buried in it's meta, theories, character analysis, fanarts, fanvids, fanfics, doujinshis for years to come

My masterpiece anime:
- Gintama
- One Piece
- Shigeki no Kyojin
- Boku no Hero Academia
- Fairy Tail
- Prince of Tennis

It's pretty easy to get a 10 out of me. I just have to really, really enjoy myself watching the anime. If you're a comedy and leave me in stitches, I don't much care if you have a plot hole here or there. If you're a drama, and you make me tear up a little, I'll let a boring character in the cast pass. If you're an action anime and you give me great fights and a surprising or exciting ending, you'll probably get a 9 or 10 out of me. I've seen too much anime to sweat the small stuff anymore. It's probably not fair to TRUE masterpiece anime, who are flawless in execution, but...meh. No one really cares about the number I press on a dial online.

Anime that I rate a 9 fulfil my criteria for quality and are entertaining. Anime that I rate a 10 go beyond that. They are impressive works of art, and the best that the medium has to offer. Both my 9's and 10's are my favourites and there are some 9's that I like more than 10's for various reasons. However, my 10's are still the best anime that I've seen in terms of quality.

Not including best girl winning?

Harsh, has to be equal to my 9s, but it had a endearing feeling for me. Complex themes, well-developed characters, thought out plotline and shit like that. I do not even have a 10 as of now ;^)

My anime 9s are 9 and I refuse to hear reason that says otherwise.

Significant plot that involves some form of conflict or competition.
Realism when it comes to disadvantages and consequences for failure; No hitting someone with an object and having them fly away harmlessly.
Music is all of one genre, and fitting for the scenes.
Self sacrifice for the greater good of society.
No annoying voice actors or out of place characters/backstory.
No anachronism unless time traveler.
No filler.

lol most people here are too easy with their ratings. that explains why most ratings here are completely messed up.
anyway i'm gonna copy this from my friend's profile because i agree with him.
10 - G.O.A.T of Anime, reserved only for the best of the best. I'm one to believe that no piece of entertainment is perfect, but these shows would make me reconsider that. Phenomenal in so many ways with near-flawless execution that leave me in awe once finished. They were ambitious and ultimately achieved its aspirations. They filled my heart with all kinds of emotions, and only left an empty void in their place. They push the boundaries of what the medium could do and ultimately are the reason why I still watch and follow anime today.

A 10/10 anime for me means that a show accomplished everything that it set out to do. If I was emotionally gripped, loved the music, loved the characters, and felt a sense of loss when it ended, then it would be hard for me not to give a show 10/10. Not that it matters though, it's mostly based on my own enjoyment rather than objectivity.

Entertaining story, preferrably with as few plotholes as possible.

Character development is probably the most important factor for any show to me.

Satisfying ending, pretty straight forward.

It always depends on the emotions it gave me. I'll rate the art, the sound, the story... but the biggest factor is based on what I felt watching it.

Did I laugh? Did I get chills? Did I cry? Did I get anxious? Did I feel shocked? Did I get that wonderful warm feeling? Did I feel evil? Did I feel lewd ( Ν‘° ΝœΚ– Ν‘°)?

Did it allow me to escape reality for just a small while, just on emotions alone? Did I experience something that felt real?
