News reports have announced that seiyuu Hiromi Tsuru has been found dead in a car at a highway on Thursday night. The police is currently investigating the cause of her death, as she was reported to be found unconscious with her seat belt and hazard light on. She died at the age of 57.

As a seiyuu, actress, and narrator, Tsuru began her entertainment career when she entered Himawari Theatre Group in second grade alongside her sister. She has voiced characters such as Dokin-chan from the Sore Ike! Anpanman series, Bulma from the Dragon Ball series, Meryl Stryfe from Trigun, Kiddy Phenil from the Silent Möbius series, Ukyo Kuonji from the Ranma ½ series, Azusa Higa from Warau Hyouteki, Sister Angela from One Pound Gospel, and more.

It's probably also worth noting that she voiced Bulma in Dragon Ball.

The way she died sounds really mysterious, I wonder if foul play was involved. Hopefully the police solve this quickly.

RIP, another one gone too early.

EDIT: Well looks like it wasn't some sort of nefarious foul play or anything. It sucks that she was dealing with an aortic dissection, I read the first paragraph of it on Wikipedia and it sounds like a horrible thing to deal with.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

The whole mysterious death is pretty creepy. Pretty sad that the VA of Bulma and Madoka died, especially at 57 years. All the veteran VAs keep dying. RIP

Rest in piece Hiromi Tsuru. I really loved her voice performance for Yubel in Yu-gi-oh! Gx. Yubel is my favorite character for Yu-gi-oh! Gx. Still, her death seems mysterious to me...

Whoa. She's voiced Bulma since the beginning. They are gonna have to find a replacement because they can't write out Bulma who is effectively the female lead of the series.

Oh dear. Vehicle was found at the side of the expressway with its hazard lights blinking and the driver, wearing a seat belt, unconscious. Initially stated that she passed away due to a medical issue(sic).

RIP Tsuru-san.

I was never really into DBZ and never watched it in Japanese in the first place, so I've never associated her with Bulma. She'll always be Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road to me, the first ever tsundere.

Really sad. RIP.

This is mysterious as hell how she died... but hopefully we get an clear answer to this.

It makes me sad since I like Bulma from DB... so knowing this news while I am not the biggest fan of Dragon Ball, she did a pretty good job as her... so this is saddening tho.

There's nothing wrong with the word "dies" or "dead" or "death" or "dying". Yes, events like these are extremely sad, all the more so because it was sudden, but death is a basic part of life. Euphemisms like "passed away" or "resting in peace" only distance us from this fact.

Hiromi Tsuru was one of my favorite seiyuus from the 80's and 90's. I loved it when she said "Ran-chan". Sigh. She will be missed.

This is truly sorrowful. Moreover considering how young she was.

My favorite female anime character of all times has lost the voice that gave her a soul. I don't watch DBS anymore, but in the remote case I decide to get back to it, it's definitely going to be very odd to hear Bulma with a voice that it's not Tsuru's. Her voice was iconic.

Hope the causes of the sudden death can be clarified soon.

Or if she fell asleep/sleep with AC on inside her car that might be the cause. (Carbon Monoxide Poisoning)

According to her colleague in the Japan news, Hiromi is already have a physical discomfort during few days ago and during November 13 (This Monday), her status is getting even worst which cause she have to finish her works early in that day.

As for how Hiromi Tsuru passed away, now it's confirmed her death is caused by aortic dissection during she driving at highway. (Source: https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20171117-00000312-oric-ent)

I'm at a loss for words on this one. 57 is WAY too young still. And this such a total bolt out of the blue
Tsuru-san, like the rest of the Dragon Ball voice cast, was an industry veteran and has a resume chock full of an impossibly dizzying array of classic, milestone anime and memorable roles.

Space Adventure Cobra, Arcadia of My Youth, Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Kinnikuman, Cat's Eye, Maison Ikkoku, Saint Seiya, Kimagure Orange Road, Dominion Tank Police, Demon City Shinjuku, City Hunter, Gall Force, Ranma 1/2, Devil Hunter Yohko, Ghost Sweeper Mikami, Silent Mobius, Trigun... The list just goes on and on and on and on.
This really, REALLY sucks. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones.
