Apparently there's an english dub of the series which aired the first episode on Animax Asia two days ago. Here's a link to where I found the episode:

http://dubbinz.com/english_dub_anime/ongoing/k-on/details.html]

And no, IT IS NOT FAN-MADE, it's dubbed by a studio located in Hong Kong called Red Angel Media. They ''supposedly'' specialize in providing English and Cantonese voice dubbing, lip sync voice-over and pre-lay services and have work on anime titles such as Tokyo Godfathers, Eureka Seven, Inuyasha, and personal favorite Big Windup just to name a few.

Not a bad dub, but the problem is that none of the voices:

1. Fit
2. Are memorable.

The video is taking forever to load.
So I haven't bothered to watch it, but from people's reactions I'm guessing it's terrible?

The dub isn't too bad, its not the best dub but its still watchable. Its still better then subtitles since you don't have to stare at the bottom of the screen 90% of the time to understand whats going on.

I was never interested in dubs.. subs with original voices are still the best way to go.
Animax is also airing K-ON here but I think we don't have the option to switch to English voice.. o.O

Not ALL of the voices are horrible (Nodoka and Ritsu are okay) but they messed up on Mugi, Mio, Ui, Yui, etc... TT-TT

Yes, Nodoka is fine but Ritsu is terrible! Instead of bein all lively and stuff she's just... sleepy or smt xO I friggin don't approve, as a Ritsu fangirl OwO''

And wow... I mean, WOW! Ahahahaha, bwahahahaha I... I laughed my ass off @ Sawa-chan's voice xDDDDD Bwahahahhahahahah she, she, she.... ahahahahha she sounds like some typical grown-up woman I just.... I just can't imagine her in her real form with THAT voice! It's too funny!! xDDDDDD

@ hypersonic124

I'm loling at you guys saying that it's a pain to read subtitles... You're just spoiled, that's why! Here they air only american movies, rarely other foreign ones... And they are 80% of the time with subtitles, and I don't see anyone comaplining about it, and we can watch quite well actually, no problem. Stop being so spoiled Dx Besides, almost allways the dub fails, because it doesn't match the characters. Did you hear Sawa-chan? Oh my, I'm gonna laugh again xDDD

*gets back after 5 minutes*
Akhem. And Yui is so not moe now. They ruined everything, man.

It isn't a fandub, but it isn't really official either. K-ON! hasn't been licensed by an American company yet, so there's still the chance of a good dub coming. I thought this one was mediocre at best; there was nothing about it that was terrible, but at the same time it wasn't good.

And wow, people, not a thread that even has the word "dub" in it can go without a goddamn dub vs. sub war starting up? Holy shit, people, who cares? Some prefer subs, others prefer dubs, neither one is really better than the other 96% of the time. Get the hell over it and stop bashing the other side so much. Christ.

Same thing really. Pain = distraction. I'm just saying you're missing all the fun here. The characters are not what they used to be, and if the moe was what you were looking for, I just don't think you'll find it here with those hell of a plain voices. If I watched it like this, probably I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not against dubs when done right. I adore Light's english voice and the jap one is just gay... so yah.

if this is official why is it still telling us the sponsors? Official dubs don't do that. And they kept the Japanese message as well, lolol.
And half the voices sound like they were done by the same person.
And it hasn't translated the text in the OP/ED or credited anyone who worked on the dub.
Plus there's no link to an official website for this dub, the link just leads to a site that streams English dubs...

Nahh, I don't reckon this is real at all, just a particularly ambitious fandubber.

its the offical animax asia dub, it has the sponsors because the guy who capped used the raw video and synced it with the animax audio so it would have better video quality

so, I googled both Animax Asia and Red Angel Entertainment.
All Animax Asia site mentioned was showing K-ON! subbed, Red Angel Entertainment site said noting about K-ON!.

So I see absolutely no proof this is real. Until someone tells me they have actually seen this on TV, I refuse to believe it is real. :/

Agreed while I do watch a lot of subbed anime but I do liked the dub better if I have the choice. This is the kinda of show that I would have given a chance if it wasn't dubbed. The only dub I really couldn't stand was Higurashi.

You can't complain about bad dubbing until you've seen Megumi. The problem with that dub is the fact that they sound forced and awkward. Do the people who wrote the script even speak fluent english?
