 An OVA for Eromanga-sensei has been announced at the Eromanga Fes event held on Sunday. The OVA is slated for 2018, and additional information will be announced at a later time. Eromanga-sensei is a light novel series by the OreImo duo Tsukasa Fushimi and Hiro Kanzaki. The series has been serialized via Dengeki Bunko imprint since December 2013. A total of nine volumes have been released, with latest going on sale in June of this year. A manga version drawn by rin began its serialization via Dengeki Daioh magazine in May 2014. Six compiled volumes for the manga daptation have been released so far, with the seventh volume released in October. A-1 Pictures adapted the the novel series into a 12-episode TV anime, which aired for 12 episodes between Spring and Summer 2017. | I do not dislike the harem genre, but I do dislike the trend of "harems without romance", which makes up the vast majority of the genre. I am specifically referring to stagnant romances that do not go anywhere, develop an onscreen example of personal growth, in lieu of fan service episodes and general slice of life hijinks. This is far more irritating in regards to Ero-Manga Sensei, due to the idea that is something more than the usual fodder in harems, when it is everything that encompasses the term "harem without romances". The general belief that it is showing a heartwarming tale of sibling love is disgusting, frankly. There has been so little on screen progress that any declaration is than a cheap, manipulated way to tug at heartstrings. |
