My first and still favorite anime has to be fate/stay night the orginal and the unlimted blade works. I just found the artwork and story so interesting so I gave it a 10/10 immediately.

my 10/10 anime is clannad after story

Same... the first anime I ever watched (not counting the sailor moon sagas and DB since they were casted on normal TV) was Clannad followed by its sequel... I wasn't a Nerd till I watched those 2 animes that I immediately rated as Masterpieces and took me into Otaku's world, and then it has been a costant downfall lol... I've seen over 250 series some aren't even listed on my profile since there are so many that I don't remember the exact name and still I haven't found an anime that could reach the level of this series (not saying there aren't good anime, but not good enough anime of the same genre that can be compared to it) ... Personal point of view

Oh boy, I don't even remember anymore... I'm guessing it's Kill la kill since I added it on my list when I joined the site and It was the first anime I ever watched. I reaallly loved it and it made me want to watch more anime.
Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.
Noragami is the best anime ever.

I didn't give my first 10 yet and I already watched countless of animes. If I will give some anime a 10 it should be the one you can defend with no flaws "for me" but I gave a number of 9s which I can remember like Death Note, No game No life and Zetsuen No Tempest: The Civilization Blaster and I forgot the others.

Had a hard time getting into anime (was convinced it wasn't for me) but I gave it my all, and went by others' recommendations to find anime. All of them were bad, so I almost quit right there.

But I decided to give it one last chance but this time I was going to find an anime by myself using advanced search on MAL.

Found The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which I watched in one sitting (all of it, and YES ENDLESS EIGHT TOO) and the movie was my first 10/10 and I'll gladly defend that score today.

Haruhi may not be a god in the real world but she's the saviour of anime, at least in my case lol.

And if nobody got it yet, even my user name on MAL is a Haruhi reference.

I would say Grisaia no Kajitsu. I felled in love with that anime after the first episode

Maybe read the VN to get the other 95% of the story, probably worth it if you thought the anime was a 10

I already did. And il give the VN a 20 of 10. I was just going by the way I thought of it back in December 28th 2014. But I played the VN a year later

Nice, the more the merrier, I realize it's not the best VN ever (but damn close) but it's my favourite still, and happy to see it's still being discovered.

IMO the anime was an improvement over both, Kajitsu is the only one where the VN is so much better. Meikyuu is full of fandisc-type stuff and "alternate events", and Rakuen's story (which really is basic) really benefits from the brevity and efficiency of the anime.

Of course, if you do play them, hope you enjoy them more than I did hah

Ghost in the Shell is the earliest anime that I gave a 10/10 to. Believe it wasn't early in my anime experience but it's pretty close. Think it was a couple years in after I seriously started watching.

Anyway, I lucked out in having it at my local video rental store. Shaped how I looked at shows later on, so it had a big impact on me.

Evangelion, I think. I've lowered it to a 9 after really taking into account the abysmal derailing of the production in the last few episodes. With End included and 25-26 given better context or at the very least ignored, the complete story arc is absolutely a masterpiece. Just needed to be accurate mane

End of Evangelion. I rarely give things 10/10, I only give it to the most deserving shows. Something would have to be basically perfect for me to give it a 10, and even stuff I really love isn't necessarily worth of a 10. I haven't even given the original show a 10, and that's not because of the final two episodes, which are the best of the series.

It's still to this day my favorite anime of all time. However I haven't watched many anime so this might change... But this anime will always hold a special place in my heart.

Oi exact same here. I put it as 10 (it was my first anime actually) though after gaining some experience I bumped it down as well. Still holds a special place for me though <3

I discovered this website too late so I rated a bunch of 10/10s right after I registered, I am very generous with my rating too, (I have like 15 10/10 or so? )...
Oreimo is probably the first one I watched among those 10/10

If I count anime I've seen in my childhood then it would be Spirited Away. Otherwise my first 10/10 would've been Angel Beats though I am unsure if I would rate it a 10 again if I (re)watched it today as I have a lot more anime to compare it to nowadays.

I already watched anime before the internetz was used as a data base tool to rate stuff (well, even before it existed at all), but I guess it would have been

Ghost in the Shell: SAC

-adult themed, music by Yokko Kanno and cyber punk genre. :) If I would objectivly watch it again, Id probably rate it a bit lower, because I remmber it being too slow paced from time to time

If we're counting movies, Mononoke Hime, which still is, for me, the best japanese animation there is.

Hey, unknown user: many kudos for you! *_*
Same.

Tho I have watched a few of my 10s, before I have joined MAL.
These were Mononoke Hime, Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies, Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Inuyasha's last arc and Noragami Aragoto.

I know that, especially with Inuyasha, the last arc or the whole anime isn't "perfect", but it's one of my absolute favorites since I actively watched anime. So I decided to give the few really-favorites I have also scores with 9s and 10s, even if they have some flaws. Everything does have some, by the way, and I don't decide my favorites on which anime has the fewest flaws. XD So, the same goes for Noragami Aragoto. The first season is a 9 to me and the manga a 10. ^^
Besides, I really think, they deserve this. At least from me and my love for these anime. X'D

Only when something really bothers me, I decide to take the 10 away and settle with a 9 again.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso and Kimi no na wa were 10s for me, but I couldn't stand the ridiculous long performances, Kaori's permanent abuse and the "Imouto-arc" in Shigatsu and the characters in Kimi no na wa were boring to me. Tho, the story was really moving, but the characters were kinda boring, I think?
For Shigatsu...

Other 10s from anime, which I have watched after joining MAL

Not really into anime, but the first (and the only) two manga which I gave a 10 (simultaneously) were Monster and Slam Dunk.
Just check my manga list if you want the anime scores... I'd mostly rate them the same unless there's any significant change to the plot.
