Can someone spoil the plot for me? Why is she a hand? *Spoilers*

This show is something I'll probably never watch... but I watched the first episode and I'm curious how it is she turned into a hand. I also skipped to the last episode and she's a normal human in it. Why?

This is a spoiler so don't read it if you don't wanna know what happens in the anime(This one will really ruin your mood)


How and why she became a hand is never mentioned in the anime.(Haven't read the manga yet. Will soon!!!)

But in once a priest like guy mentions to midori's mom that she(To be precise her spirit) herself refuses to return back to her original body. (Midori doesn't know this). So in the second last episode, She strongly feels guilty for being a burden to others like her mom, kota and Sawamura because others are troubled as she turned into Sawamura's right hand (though he himself doesn't mind it). Due to that she finally accepts to go back to hey original body (most probably unconsciously while sleeping) and in the last episode She wakes up with her original body but she forgets everything that happens in previous episodes. But others know it. Then she confesses to sawamura with her real body without knowing that she had already confessed to him hundreds of time before and sawamura also accepts her love.
