Its a 3 way tie between DBZ, Sailormoon, and Pokemon im pretty sure this accounts for almost all the 90's/Toonami kids though but if we're being technical the first anime that I watched that I knew was anime was Naruto.
Hm .. I guess I should have about 2 or 3 years while on Pokemon on TV, but I never saw him complete just have a vast memory of him. I saw others as well as passing on TV Gash Bell and DBZ, but I believe it was the first Pokemon. Now, my first FULL anime, Bokura Ga Ita was, I remember I was so addicted that I watched in one day.
Green Green TV followed by Berserk. The contrast between the shows made me fall in love with the medium. This was probably back in 2005. Still enjoy anime, but I miss the ability to enjoy any show, no matter how bad. Then it was all about novelty, being someone so accustomed to live action and regular Western cartoons. Nowadays I'm rather critical - not that I don't enjoy that as well. Everything has its trade-off I guess.
My first anime experience was My Neighbour Totoro, then various films from Studio Ghibli, introduced to me by my mom. Then obviously the mainstream anime such as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh,
but my first full subbed series I watched on the internet was Tokyo Mew Mew (I was young lol) x
I think my first is either Dragon Ball or Pokemon ^____^
But i started to get more addicted when the channel 5 (Philippines) aired
The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fushigi Yuugi, Shakugan no Shana, Mythical Detective Loki and Code Geass !!! <3
Up until I joined MAL yesterday I thought my first anime was Pokemon. Then I saw Little Nemo when I was going through the list and checking off shows, My mom used to put that on for me all the time when I was a toddler and I loved it even though it scared me some times.
