Please also remember to thank our event staff! Snowical always organizes the entire MALoween event, bringing all the mods who create rooms into some semblance of order. Big thanks to everyone who took the time to create and run their own rooms: Ana, Ardanaz, Congress, Huhmuhnuh, ImperfectBlue, Jicetus, Luna, Naruleach, Sapphire, Shocked, Shymander, Skittles, and Tensho. Without all of their creativity and hard work, this event would not have happened. Please also thank Maffy for her help with the bonus events, and Mishukax for organising the Mafia event. | thank you to all the admins & mods who worked hard to create bizarrely amusing rooms and challenges for us to solve, as well as fellow participants who made the discord chatrooms lively and entertaining as we all burned in flames and suffered together! getting #9 in my first ever halloween event and discord server experience was a perk too, as well as making new friends through this temporary purgatory~ happy to have escaped the mansion! |

| Oh, wow. I actually made it to #11. I didn't expect that. I wasn't even sure if I would make it in the top 25 :D I really appreciate all the effort. I can only imagine how difficult it must be so set up such games and be that creative. All in all it seemed like a really nice event, but I thought some input might be appreciated. And if not, then everyone can just skip my wall of text :D I hope it's okay to share some critique/personal opinion about this event :) - Next time I would prefer it if more mods/people worked on one room. I totally understand everyone has a private life, school/job, needs sleep etc. But it happened a few times that I sent in a submission in the morning and after 16 hours I still didn't get a reply. Considering that these rooms were open for about 2 - 4 days iirc it's kind of irritating to only get two tries. Sometimes you found people who could help you, but no one was officially allowed to confirm/deny answers, so it was frustrating when you had to pray that your answer was right because you knew there wouldn't be any reply until the room closed. - Some rooms were really difficult and I'm not sure if they were too difficult tbh. The first one that comes to mind is the Sawmander Room with the trigonometry stuff. It's been over six years since I finished school, so my memory on that stuff is really rusty, I understand that's just my personal "problem". But from what I've seen around MAL it seems like many people are too young to have ever heard about that stuff in school in the first place. You could look up how to solve Sin, Cos and Tan, but knowing what it is in the first place seems so tricky. - That's also part of the third "complaint" - It was too difficult/time-consuming for the short amount of time. It was during a time where people I knew had exams. Even if they didn't then there's still the problem of normal week with school and work. Some of these people I know actually quit the event because it took too much time. Spending two hours a day seems like a fair amount, but I know I spent basically whole days on some rooms. Of course no one's to blame here because it's my own decision, but I'm sure most people spend a lot of time on these rooms. Personally I found it really exhausting at the end. |

| Thank you so much for this event again! It was a lot harder than the first year! OO: Some rooms I didn't even touch because I was too busy and thought it'd be bad to spend time on them when I had a bunch of assignments/test studying I was supposed to be doing instead.;; I saw an answer that I had a little beef with, but whatever. Not my room, not my rules. Seriously though, thanks for the event! It made me really anxious, but I'm still really happy I was able to participate and even manage to escape! Thank you mods and fellow participants (who once again encouraged me just by going at it)! Since I know mods get busy too, maybe it might be helpful to have a few people helping to check answers in the threads though? I wouldn't mind volunteering for something like that. Or if there are other mods free who don't want to host a room but have a little time to check answers, maybe that could help too. Thank you all again! ;o; |
