Why do people mistake Shinsekai Yori as a fantasy anime?

But it is a fantasy. It's just not marketed that way. You will see many "romance" anime on this site that are quite literally hentai but are not labelled as so. Such as this one and this one. It's very common.

Also, this airing anime is both a sci-fi and a fantasy. (It's very similar to Shinsekai Yori, too.) These two genres are not mutually exclusive. They can coexist.
