Actual plot advancement and character development happen in this chapter! What a surprise! It's a very dark chapter, but also very optimistic. Like many chapters of this seemingly cutesy series, it has themes about death. The ghost of a Golduck who never got to confess its feelings to its love possesses Coconut's male Eevee when it and Little Lu the female Eevee go to a haunted house on a date. The Golduck blames Little Lu for its lover being gone. It then tries to kill Little Lu but Coconut's Eevee returns to its body and saves Little Lu. Then he confesses his love which is reciprocated. At the end Coconut and Hazel want to know if they got together. Only Sandy and Raichu, the ghosts who helped Eevee find its way back from the river Styx by soothing the soul of Golduck know that things turned out alright for the Eevee couple. The two Eevee celebrate their union by watching the cherry blossoms fall. The cherry blossoms falling after the Eevee find love remind one that life is short like the cherry blossom blooming period, but also beautiful and romantic for those fortunate enough to find love.
