| The static and pre drawn backgrounds actually didnt feel bad, having an almost water color painted, old school look to them. Like a cross between Castle in the Sky, Gargantia and Nausica and one or two other post apoca far future stories like Desert Punk/ Suna Bozu. BUt what a BEautiful end theme. |

| Really interesting start! I like the creative world building. I also like the visuals and the ED! I can't wait to see what happens next! Looks like there was a war or battle or something on Lykos' island, interesting how she just straight up attacked Chakuro. I wonder what kind of other people are out there. I wonder how she can be a marked but not die early... The elders know something that Chakurao doesn't...I'm hoping that any secrets get revealed in like a really interesting way. Also the little animal is so cute!!!! It took me a hot sec before I realized I was mixing up archivist with archaeologist...lol xD |

| Not a badly directed opening ep. I'm digging the story structure so far. As for the delivery of detail about the world building, the narration is decent enough. I'd rather that than two characters expositing stuff they both know about. I did feel there were one or two bits in this opening ep that did that tho. This background art is so like J.C Staff, lol. I don't hate it, that's for sure. What I don't like is the characters faces. They look, eh, strange, or out of focus in some shots. No wonder they need thymia to move the boats. They're grinding on sand. Talk about a convenient ability, huh. Sucks that it costs pretty much most of yer fucking lifeforce to use. An island floating alone with only a girl as the sole survivor. This doesn't scream ominous. Not at all. The Unmarked rule the island essentially. They are concealing something from the Marked ones, clearly. A mystery is afoot. Let's hope it'll be good. |
