To the manga ones, I see there is like 4 or so manga there, and the first one seems like a prequel to this. Or it's own, and should I read any of the manga.

Afraid so, this is the sequel I think. I highly recommend reading the first manga before watching this, so you'll understand EVERYTHING and why the mc is like this.

np ironicly this one isn't translated, while the prequel is.

I think they're just adapting the Sequel first, because the cast included also the first manga characters, and not just the mains : https://youtu.be/BboZvrCp7Zg

that's weird. those are all characters from the first series, but ep.1 of the anime is about the sequel????

My prediction, judging from the fact the first arc characters are featured right on the poster, and all have concept designs, and actors, is that the series is going to adapt both parts in one anime to complete Nobuaki's story. This also would explain why certain things from the first arc they alluded to seem a little different. I think maybe the next so many episodes might cover the first arc, then they may jump back into this one. I'm hoping though if this series does well, they may adapt the other arcs beyond Nobuaki.

Ok this is how it goes: First is Ousama Game Kigen (prequel of Ousama Game), then Ousama Game, then Ousama Game Shuukyoku (which this anime is adapting from). Kigen was 30 years before Ousama Game and Ousama game is before Shuukyoku.
