Like being born a slave and dying a slave.
Being raised getting a lot of shit and waiting for the right moment to do sth, but not being able to do shit and just dying before that.
Being abused physically and getting no affection as a kid and going on the same as an adult, and dying horribly.

And still, Bill will live on.
He will befriend the next inhabitants of the earth, beings of light who revere him as a god.
And Bill will outlive them all... for millions and millions of years...exploring, learning, living,
until the earth is swallowed beneath his feet.
Until the sun is long since gone.
Until time loses all meaning and the moment comes that he knows only the positions of the stars
and sees them whether his eyes are closed or open.
Until he forgets his name and the place where he'd once come from.
He lives and he lives until all of the lights go out.

Is the game itself a noticeably big part of the plot?
I'm great at not giving a shit about the rules in games.

The game is super simple and important. My 9 year old boy understands it.

I have a three year old kid. That might get problematic.

"The universe has a beginning, but no end. —Infinite.
The stars too have beginnings, but their power accompanies their decline. —Finite.
It the wise who are the most foolish. History has taught us as much.
The fish of the sea know not the world of the land. Were they to possess wisdom, they too would experience decline.
It is more absurd that humans should surpass the speed of light than it is that fish should start living on the land.
This can be said to be God's final warning to those who resist."

You're begging for Texhnolyze. Bear with it for a while, it does get good at the second half.

I've watched it. It's in my favorite list.

Oh, it says you're still watching (3/22) in your anime list. You have 233 anime in your watching list, I think you're updating them wrong xD

I agree with Kaiji btw. It's not nearly as nihilistic as Texhnolyze, but I'm pretty sure you'll like it. If you like gambling, that's a plus.

Would you kindly...

oh sorry, my bad :<
btw, try Deadman Wonderland, it was kinda close to what you're looking for. Hayate no Gotoku too, but mc gets a lot of affection as he grows old and didn't die.
