| A lot of people are saying they didn't expect The Boar to die in the first episode, and while I won't say that I was expecting it, I wasn't fully expecting her to live either. Because I while watching and seeing how much attention was being put into The Boar's personality and backstory I figured that either: she would still be alive by the end because of how much importance the character seemed to have, or she was going to die to show mess with the audience's expectation. I personally feel like what ended up happening was the smartest choice, since with this show specific premise it would've been really easy for it to fall into the trap of giving certain characters very evident plot armor and make it very obvious which characters have better chances of surviving. So while it may have been a little anticlimactic to explore her character so thoroughly just to kill her off in the first episode, i think it will help to make us less sure of who's going to die and in turn make us more invested the show. All in all, just from the first episode I already get the feeling that this will be an anime that I'll enjoy, I think It'll be fun to learn more about the characters and the Juuni Taisen as well as trying to guess who's going to die next or who's going to kill who, all accompanied with beautiful and fluid animation. Also, I think The Monkey isn't as nice as she acts. As far as I know, monkeys are typically portrayed as jerks in chinese folklore and mythology. Also also, I just noticed that the second episode already came out, so probably no one is going to read this. lol Heck, I'm posting it anyway. I spent way too much time writing this to not post it. |

| I really liked this! It was interesting to see so much of the Boar's backstory, slowly driving her sister crazy so she killed herself and so that she could compete :P Plus we get a good intro to the game as well. I wonder how she knew so many of the other competitors, since I'd assume that the previous contestants would all be dead seeing as her father won the last competition o_O Either way the Rabbit certainly looks like an interesting character XD Bless fanservice?! :P I'll be surprised if she dies right away, but if we get an episode for each character I guess it would make sense. Wait except ... if someone dies each time there's a fight that wouldn't work out? IDK I just assumed that seeing as how the Dog gave the preview. Either way I wonder what the Monkey's plan was, but I am totally on the side of the Boar, let's get the fighting started XD Either way the ED was pretty catchy, nice bass line going into the chorus. This one has my attention so far! :3 |
| I've watched all the episodes to this point (3), but my mind keeps coming back to this first episode. This is easily my favorite introduction to an anime in a long time. A lot of the outcomes are foreshadowed beautifully, and there was a logic to the shocking end. It sets up the formula for future episodes - which likely will get broken at some point. I'm guessing more surprises to come. At first I think any viewer is (naturally) pretty pissed about this first episodes outcome, but looking back at the backstory of the 'main' character... who really could be upset by her fate? She's one unsavory villain |

This is a battle royale, so you never know who is going to die, and I had the feeling she was too confident for her own good. About Boar herself, well, she was hot, but also a bitch, so... Rabbit too OP, btw, a necromancer with a good ability to fight seems pretty strong. Of course, we haven't see yet the abilities of the rest of the zodiacs, but still. He is pretty funny and clever, and his design is really hilarious, so I won't mind if he ends winning, though. I have the feeling each episode are going to follow one of the zodiacs, and I won't be surprised if they end dying at the end just like boar (hell, one of them already died before the event started, even his own brother didn't gave a fuck about him). After Black Clover's mediocrity, this has been a better start of the season. |
| Color me interested so far. The animation and visuals are gorgeous and it doesn't look like it'll be predictable. I just hope it doesn't go the route of say, Magical Girl Raising Project, where it's simply dark and violent for the sake of being dark and violent. |

| Oh damn this show isn't pulling any pulling any punches! Good first episode. It reminds of Danganronpa( bear with me, i mean the killings) with the way am sure of deaths coming my way. Am rooting for monkey( though i feel she may be killed). Trying my best not to be very invested into any of the characters ( except rabbit of course) Guess am gonna watch it for the rest of the season. |

| I start the episode with low expectations but i think it was a OK episode not bad neither good. At least we have Boar backstory, sadly she dies too son. I don't like some characters designs ex. Rabbit. 3/5 |

| I enjoyed that intro episode but was disappointed that the Boar did all that to get there and then end up as the second one dead. Like don’t tell me the whole backstory and then she dies. Smh. |
