So i ask you all, can you name a worse attempt at making a morally gray character than charioce? I am drawing a blank, cause how can you top "no hes a good person cause he played soccer with a demon kid".

its been so long since a show has left me this angry.

The king becoming a hero but at the cost of losing his sight while still being able to have love? Really? This series just fucking justified a tyrant's rule and genocide. Like what the fuck happened to this series? Sure Nina wasn't the best protagonist but there was so much potential only to basically excuse unforgivable actions and a false sense of peace. Nah...this shit goes down to a 5 for me just because of the second half. Let's have a redo where Favaro is the MC again.
Don't believe the hype.

Well, this trainwreck is finally over and as expected the last episode was pure garbage. If there's ever going to be a third season I really hope they bring back the writer from Genesis because Ooishi Shizuka only cares about her shitty romances.

And as much as I'm an advocate of not discussing taste because "to each their own", I really cannot understand how anyone would give this trainwreck a score higher than a 7. It makes absolutely no sense, unless you haven't got a ounce of critical thinking in your brain. My guess is that this series suffers from a serious case of fanboyism, since it's always fanboys who look past / ignore a show's flaws.

So disappointed. This started so well. So much promise. And then around episode 8,9 things started to go downhill. They took all that made Bahamut great and flushed it down the toilet. They even made Favaro and KaIsar boring for crying out loud.

Came into this for FAVAROOO, Kaisar, Rita and Amira.

Instead got shitty new characters, almost no screen time for main character, disrespect towards Kaisar and virtually no Amira apart from 5 seconds in the end. Rita was good this season but she promised not to play around pretend with zombies last season, so I hope this whole Kaisar zombie thing will be worked upon next season if it ever comes. Also pacing all the over the place, too much screen time on irrelevant characters and shitting up the lore.

2/10.

Well that was pretty tragic, the King and Nina ended up as a couple (I presume?) but he can't see her, and she can't talk to him.

Really triggered how they disrespected Kaiser so much this season, he was my favorite male character, and they even ended up killing him, I was so pissed during this episode how nobody mentioned him or went to his grave, not even Favaro. After credits scene gave me some relief when I saw him with Rita. I guess the rest of them don't know she revived him as a zombie yet.

First of all, the final scene with Nina and Chaorice is quite romantic, just like the whole series was. They both lost one basic sense, as you have said, they can't know of each others..."existence" unless they touch, embrace each other. It is so tragic, yet romantic, they are finally together and their love is complete, achieved through struggle and sacrifice. Also, Nina did something Favaro could not - she defeated the Bahamut without giving him the loved one. And this is something Favaro is proud of.
Now, to the main issue. I really feel you, my man, I really do. But the way they handled Kaisar... it was proper, essential until the end(which did not even come yet, thanks to Rita). He always was my favourite. A noble medieval knight I have only read in fairy tales, with a codex of honour and a proper aim in mind. I can't exactly remember that he has exact 0 (ZERO) bodycount on his hands, but I believe it to be so. He was until the end an idealist, a pacifist and a hero. Why *was*, he is still, even if his form debased a little, in essence he is still that blue-eyed beacon of morality, protecting the troubled with complete disregard to his own well-being. An embodiment of "heroism". And there is nothing wrong with what has happened past two episodes. Because this is what Kaisar wanted. This is what he achieved, the peace he craved for, ever if it costed him his living. El, born half an angel, was supposed to bring the light to the world and save it. In a sense, he did, just like Kaisar did his part in it. And what's more, him being turned to zombie is a double-trouble. Now he can keep helping the people with ABSOLUTE disregard for his well-being. That is what he would have wanted, wouldn't he? I am really looking forward to whatever they do next with this series, though I am afraid it is as perfect as it gets - no more Kaisar for me, us. But that is what we would have wanted, wouldn't we, Kaisar.

After this I want give Genesis better score.
I hate writers for killing Mugaro, turning Kaiser into zombie (what is a point of having him "alive" when he is just walking corpse, they iignored whole season KaiserxRita and at the end they make them "zombie couple".
Alessand died killed by some random demon... kinda wish AzazelxJeanne kill him.

I'm so pissed at this season...
All my favorite characters were treat as sh*t and Favaro trying to justify King was big blow.
Nina choice to save King over world was so stupid, like I can't even.
I had hopes she will say something she will save him and world... but... oh well... -.-

I start to worry about "Monaria Friends" after "Virgin Soul".

When I saw zombie Kaisar at the end I had a good laugh. It looked like if he lost some chromosomes in the process xD

The show was a trainwreck as soon as the second half started. Everything was decent, and they had to ruin it hard with romances and dumb plot twists. Genesis wasn't the Holy Grail either, but at least was funny and the story, even if it wasn't nothing new, was better executed.
I won't lie, however, that Amira's return in this episode and the end when Nina tells Favaro the message Amira told her to say to him was pretty moving. Too bad Favaro himself wasn't the main character.

Also, the ending says that Bahamut is not dead... Bahamut 3 foreshadowing?

Btw, is funny how Lucifer's role in this has been the same he had in Genesis. Doing nothing, then appear at the end protecting the world of Bahamut with a barrier. Lmao.
Wish the show would had featured more of Cerberus too :(

No one was saying there was a sequel, but boy do i want a season 2 one day, it'd be a blast to see favro and kaiser again.

This sequel was so fucking bad, i cant believe how it went from fine to an atrocity in such record time. It feels like some writer change happened in the last act where the new writer was angry at the previous so he intentionally made every wrong decision. I was torn between a 4 and 3 but this ending was bad enough to be a 3.

Except for some pacing issues (Favaro's first appearance ep 8) and it feeling a little bit directionless at times... what a great show.
There is a lot of subtlety in Virgin Soul. So it's obvious most people commenthing here don't understand it. You have to admit, SnB does its own thing. People aren't quite used to it.

I love how they respected what people loved about the 1st season, yet still focused on a new experience. Although Favaro is not the main character of Virgin Soul, you can see and feel his growth. His weird funny and stupid faces have grown as well. Just look at his final goofy face; there is some wisdom hidden in it.
Also, that little scene with Amira made me tear up just a little. I love this kind of theme and deeply respect writers that don't throw revelations and simple happy ends in your face.

Also, that Kaisar's FAVAROOOO at the end. Pure gold. With that sequel bait at the end I do hope it gets a 3rd season.

Boy do I wish they come out with a season 2 of Bahamut Genesis soon.

This retarded 24 episode poor excuse for fan-fiction really should be confined to the depths of the Marina Trench, never to be laid eyes upon again. What the heck even is this bullshit?!?

Anyone who actually believes this was even more than watchable need to get their eyes and brains checked. You actually believe that a tyrant of a king who caused mass genocide actually deserves to live as a cripple? The dude should have his head lopped off by a very public and messy execution.

How did Charioce of all people get a happy ending? While others ended up either dying, losing their children while being the actual good guys.

I mean the show literally spent multiple episodes detailing all the terrible shit he has done and yet he comes out as an Hero only losing his eyesight. That must be one of the biggest "Go fuck yourself" writing i've seen.

The first halve of the show was actually pretty good but the second halve and it's conclusion just baffles me. It's like there were 2 different writers and the second one hated the first so fucked everything the first one set up to do.

And the long awaited reunion between Amira and Favaro doesn't even happen instead it's Nina that meets her.

I mean this so named king did all this shit to kill Bahamut for good but instead he did the exact same thing Favaro did and that is temporarily stop him.

He made Demons slaves and mass killed them for his personal gain. And now suddenly all demons and humans are like friends? What?

What a dissapointing sequel, loved the original but this is the biggest fuck you to fans.

So, remember girls! When the world is in peril, always go for the half-baked romance with a tyrannical King.
tfw the Cheerios x Nina montage was literally all their scenes together in the whole anime

But seriously, this was a pretty awful finale featuring one of the most badly executed deaths I've seen in anime. What's even worse is that it was obviously planned because of the whole Rita crying thing in the OP, so there's literally no excuse for how crap it was done.

Bahamut got one-shotted, Nina ended up mute and Cheerios ended up blind...like, how do they communicate? He can't see her sign language or writing, and she can't exactly use her words to guide him lol I guess they just fixed all the problems in their relationship.
I actually started laughing at the dance scene.

They did Azazel dirty again- but hey, they've been doing that since they stopped using him as Nina's faux love interest, so I can't say I'm surprised. But seriously...he just "went away somewhere"...really?? What a subtle way of side-stepping lmao

The only good things to come out of this were:
*The existence of Favaro and Azazel
*Zombie Kaisar
*Implied Sofiel x Bacchus bc they are obviously better than Cheerios x Nina

This anime is a complete and utter train wreck, and has been since the whole prison thing...but hey, it's a train wreck I've really, really enjoyed!

Now if we ever get a sequel, please let it be about a middle-aged Favaro, undead Kaisar and Azazel somehow meeting again and doing some crazy shiz as a badass trio.

I regret ever watching this. Should've never gone past the first season.

The writing was atrocious, like how did S1 become this? I thought the "new female writer" was a meme but holy shit. Just wow.

Charioce shits all over the demons, the Gods, treats his own people like shit to the point people revolt and now "lolololol he's a hero XD All is forgiven! Also no more slavery now XD. See? He's le good guy!". Who thinks that's good writing? Nina was a horrible horrible character. She and Charioce did more than enough to ruin S2. Every single character from last season was ruined beyond belief. Kaisar was practically ruined and it's impossible to fix how retarded the writer made him act. He died in the stupidest way possible just for some cheap drama. The final fight was so anticlimatic. One attack and Bahamut is down. That's it. What kind of fight is that? Don't even get me started on how retarded it was that the angels had Dromos the entire time but didn't know how to use it. Like really? Yet I'm supposed to believe Martinet did and this weapon was somehow strong enough to stop Bahamut (if temporarily)? I could go on and on about how shit S2 was.

What the fuck? Is the writer retarded or something? Who thought this was a good idea? I'm embarrassed to know I wasted so much time on this garbage.

LONG RANT:

I can't express how dissapointedI am with this sequel.
Rage of Bahamut was never particularly interesting in the plot department, or even world-building.
Genesis knew this, and so gave minimum focus to them, in favor of a fun action adventure series with fun characters and chemistry, and a crazy climatic battle, like Pirates of the Carribean, only more straightforward.

Virgin Soul instead focuses on a dragged-out plot, primarily due to a shitty romance subplot. Nina is generic genki girl (ironically, she's far more interesting without her obnoxious voice). Muguro was...there. Azazel was a generic antihero, but still better than Nina. Charioce's monotone expression and dialogue eventually became old, and his big reveal for his motive was, let's be real here, not the least bit surprising.
The war between the 3 races has bare minumum focus. And the final fight against Bahamut? Form a few-minute barrier against one attack, then one-shot the motherfucker with a canon...
Wow.
Remember how in Genesis Favaro was hanging right on Bahamut's face? Remember how in Genesis the characters nearly got blasted from Bahamut when they were desperately trying to hold onto him?

In short:
Genesis is like the cool kid on the block.
Virgin Soul is like the kid on the block who promises to be cooler and epicer, but is all talk.

Nice finale episode although it felt bittersweet losing Kaisar as well as Charioce becoming blind & Nina losing her voice.

Cool to see the Demon & Goddess Clan work together against Bahamut.
So nice to see Amira for a brief second, but sad as well.

Charioce & Nina's final dance was really sweet.
Hmmm Bahamut is not dead. Hopefully Favaro gets to meet Amira one day.

Kaisar a zombie LOL. Wonder if he can talk?

Overall a fun & enjoyable 2nd Season.
Would have been nice to see more adventures out of the city.
Would be cool to see this show get a 3rd season.

Lol at all the salty people. Not gonna lie, I didn't even like Genesis. I thought Virgin Soul was an improvement in the first half, but the second half has serious writing issues.

1) What was the point of all that build up on Jeanne's character? She got powers, started a war, killed Kaiser by accident, and then she didn't really do anything.
2) What was the point of all that build up on Azazel's character? He literally did nothing in the second half. Him and Jeanne got sidelined for no reason even though they were the main focus in some episodes. Makes no sense. It's pretty obvious the writer didn't know what to do with them.
3) Zombie Kaiser? Really? In theory, can't Rita bring back everyone that died? The hell?
4) Now that I think about, Favaro and Kaiser also got sidelined.

..Even though the second half has flaws, I still think it was (overall) an improvement on Genesis. Although, that's not saying much.

WTH. So Nina lost her voice and Charioce lost his sight? How are they supposed to communicate with each other now? It wouldn’t be so bad if they knew each other super well because at least I could believe that they would be able to understand each other even through touch. But when they hardly know the first thing about each other my suspension of belief can only go so far. I really can’t see how they’ll be able to have a fulfilling romantic relationship now. What are they going to have a translator on standby all the time now? lol

Ugh, of they were so adamant about making this a romantic season they could have a least done the romance right. But instead they chose to spend too much time on side characters and other random side plots so we’re left with is an underdeveloped central plot, and shallow romance.

I seriously hate how Charioce got treated as a hero and is still the King in the end, despite losing his eyesight completely. I've already hated him in the first episodes because of his misdeeds like the demon slavery and such. Now Nina who lost her voice is still together with Charioce who can't see and he also couldn't even hear Nina's voice at all, so all he could do is just feel her touch. :P What complete BS! I don't care if humans and demons are living peacefully together now. Dethrone Charioce FFS!

Jeanne and Azazel have become irrelevant at the end. Kaisar got revived as a zombie?! Wow, this had me drop my jaw at first, but if he's alive as a zombie, doesn't this mean he could no longer keep his human intellect and human emotions? I don't freaking know.

Heh. I had this sequel rated at a 9 during the first half, but the developments of the story became a total mess for me during the second half, especially the involvement of Bahamut's return during the final episodes. (Hey, Bahamut's still alive and someday he'll return to burn everyone to the ground, foolish mortals)

I didn't really like this SnB sequel at all. *sigh* Not even the awesome soundtrack from the anime could save it. 6/10 and I'm not surprised my score dropped this much for this sequel.

This was so horrible. I knew from the beginning I was never going to like Nina, nor season 2. I wanted to give it a try just because I loved the old characters.

Who the hell wrote season 2?! Genesis was an absolute joyride, I loved it. There was never a moment I hated. Let's just pretend season 2 didn't happen lol.

Only enjoyable moments were with Bacchus, Fava, and memories of best girl Amira.

What a shitty end for a supposedly once a great anime. Charoice motivation doesn't make any sense. It's a huge plot hole(or bad writing). Why doesn't he tell the Gods that Bahamut is about to revive. Instead he make enemy out of them just so he can become a gray area villains. Season 2 is an absolute joke. Also, too much screen time on Nina x Charoice that try to drag the whole series.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

HMN but I can see what everyone is trying to say.
And there might be some plot holes, I guess...?

I REALLY LOVED IT THO. I GAVE IT A 10.
CAUSE I HAD FUN.
and I felt that THE ENDING WAS UNEXPECTED.
/i mean i really thought that charioce would die lols and loosing his sight instead.. and nina her voice was like BANG communication error/
and to me, the "unexpected feel" was good. obvious things are kinda boring. if it was just as everyone wanted ... or just like the 1st season. it would end up being... kinda predictable, maybe? but really, who knows
ANYWAYS JUST IGNORE ME. I'm just expressing my love for it.

Wow what a garbage finale compared to what we got in Genesis. Sure it was predictable and had a lackluster second half but it was never remotely this bad like VS.

I mean it never even focused too much in the romance aspect and yet this scene from s1 blows away all of the so called romantic scenes between Cheerios and Nina.

I don't hate Nina, but I think this should would've been a lot better if she wasn't the MC! Favaro should've taken the spotlight instead :)

PS: Bahamut is not dead... sequel potential? It also means that all the sacrifices that was made... WERE USELESS! All those deaths --- useless! Congratulations, stupid king. You've sacrificed so much, for nothing.

Overall, I like this happy-ending. It felt a lil bit forced though.. and the cliffhanger that Bahamut may still be alive made it worst.

I made an account just to write this comment. Week after week I kept excusing this show in my mind, pardoning its flaws hoping for a good ending, a good wrap-up for our original Genesis characters, I should have known better. They got bashed, trashed, tossed aside over and over again through the entire course, for what purpose?

And don't get me wrong, I liked Nina as a whole, she could've been made MC in a spin-off of Bahamut, but not for this show; the build up Favaro and Kaiser stacked with Genesis and the hype built by the promise of a second season were thrown out of the window as if they didn't ever exist. This was meant to be the AOTS, with good enough chances to be the AOTY. To summarize:

1. Villain gets a happy ending. Yes, Charioze was a villain, his "warmer" side was irrelevant story-wise, which made his romance with Nina seem forced.

2. MC was useless. Nina was fun and cute, but in the end she did nothing, her dragon form was pointless as well, she caused no impact whatsoever in the story.

3. Defiled original characters. The most beloved characters from Genesis got nothing this season; instead they were punished for no reason. They should've been left out completely.

4. Plot holes. Everywhere. You look. It stresses me to no end how some people call themselves writers after works like this. If I read the script for this show without knowing a thing about it I'd immediately label it as a fan made, rather than a real script for a 24ep show.

5. Baha-what? This show's name is Rage of Bahamut. How screwed-up does a show have to be for the appearance of the main threat to be forced and also to be dealt with in just a few seconds. "Brb I gotta kill Bahamut." So many people at fault for this trainwreck.

4/10. tl;dr: Did not meet initial expectation based on what Genesis achieved, betrayed the fans and failed at whatever it tried to accomplish.

A shame that the beginning of this series was actually fun and interesting, but the rest turned out like this. Pretty much agree with all the complaints regarding the forced romance and the happy ending, etc. That being said, I still did enjoy certain scenes here and there. Seeing the old cast was great, and I liked the character development Azazel received. I felt indifferent towards Bacchus in Genesis, but I started to like his character here. Although in the end, I wouldn't have minded much if Virgin Soul hadn't come into existence.

So what is with the hate for Charioce. People keep saying the the bad things he has done, like what? Attack demons, who are are not humans and for the most part hate humans; attack the Gods who want the humans to bow before them, to the humans he is trying to make them independent and not fear demons and revere the gods.

So yeah, at last this sequel is finished. Decent ending, nothing special since the main casts are just not as interesting as the trio in Favaro, Kaisar and Amira in Genesis. No matter how much this series tried to justify Nina as the new main character, it seemed to fail in many points, even with her much longer exposure. Her king partner had the potential to become someone who can save the anime's stocks, but in the end, he was spared from the writer's blushes by making him a hero who played dirty for the sake of many. Azazel became boring as f*ck in the second half, Mugaro was nothing but moronic addition, Jeanne was recycled from her old role and Bacchus and his duck partner got somewhat longer dialogues. Rita stayed herself, like in Genesis.

Simply put, this series failed to impress Genesis fans because they omitted Favaro his central role. He was even remade into a sane, no-nonsense older guy who matured from his flamboyant and reckless old self. That itself was the core of the minuses. I won't write Nina and the new characters as failures but they just lack the focal connections to make themselves interesting other than them being common victims of Genesis' Bahamut. In the end, fans have to wait until the penultimate episode to see a glimpse of Bahamut wrecking havoc and that itself was just... unbearably annoying. Too much drama, too much unnecessary romance, too much shallow stories on minor characters and lastly, lack of Favaro x Kaisar moments ruined this supposed sequel.

IMHO, if they made this series intended to be a side-story, all is well. But I'll be damned, it's a direct sequel and it's a boring one. (5/10)

Whoa, I had a lot of fun during this season, maybe because I wasn't madly in love with Genesis either, but this episode sure felt rushed @_@ I expected a lot more action to be honest.

Plus, there are SO many huge flaws, like what was even a point of Mugaro existing? Just so they can kill him off later and start a conflict? Seriously, was that the only way? Especially since that whole conflict lasted what, one episode? And did demons forgot about Charioce slaughtering and enslaving their race? What was the point of Gabriel smiling in the creepy way, that also went nowhere? And why the hell did Azazel pretty much disappear in the second part of this series?!

Welp, to give them credit, it seems that A LOT of people forgot about demons being on killing rage in season one (and before these events).

I wanted to question their reasoning for killing Kaisar off as well, especially in such a disrespectful way, but considering scene after the credits, I guess it was solely to create possibility for zombie-pairing lol.

Dance scene was easily the highlight of this episode:

Smooth~ And I genuinely feel bad for them, even if they weren't exactly the best heroes.

So like I said, plenty of flaws, but I had a lot of fun while watching it, what can I do. I didn't love any of the characters, I didn't hate them either. Loved animation and soundtrack, openings/endings were great... If there's another sequel, I'll definitely check it out as well. 7/10

So destroying Bahamut is useless and all the suffering means nothing. I get it, romance is more important than everything, 4/10 for me.

What?

What a dissapointing sequel, loved the original but this is the biggest fuck you to fans.

this right here what a let down this was
