| It´s definetly not a masterpiece, but it has some interesting things that are worth seeing. The most important for me is that it tries to makes a statement about how a harem would be if the MC is not the classic dense teen (he is dense at the beginning, but he gets corrupt), and how an Harem scenario would turn out at the very end (to be more specific, how bad can it get?) The second thing I find interesting is the downward spiral that makoto suffers. At the beggining he was just a normal teen who happens to like a girl. then he gets involve in a love triangle, then in a love square ,and so on, and at the end you are wondering "where´s the kinda relatable guy i see in ep 1? who is this guy?" Where the shows fails is somewhere in the middle (Setsuna´s plot IMO) when things started to get waaaaaay more absurd (stupid teens doing stupid things is understandable, but there´s a point where you just have to say "Nah, now you are just a dick"). The nearest the show is to it´s ending , the more you feel this stuff is just jack horse and eveyone deserve to die, or you can be like me and feel sorry for a character (In my case Kotonoha, she didn´t deserve all that stuff) to the point where there´s not joy anymore, just pain which will not go away until you discover how this mess ends. To resume, Some interesting points, but an absurd and painfull to watch execution. IMO You are not gonna find genre breaking stuff here, but it´s definetly a emotional trip you can try if you are brave enough. |

| I gave it a 3/10. It's shit but not the worst thing I've seen. Idk why people defend it by calling it a "deconstruction" though. That term seems to be the get out of jail free card people use when defending a show they like. People defend Eiken by calling it a deconstruction of ecchi. Just tell me why you like it without resorting to calling it a deconstruction, cause an anime needs to be able to stand on it's own without relying on breaking down what other shows have done. |

| A boring visual novel that I only play for hentai scenes. A boring, drawn out anime as well. I do not enjoy drama that runs off of stupidity that manages to overtake humanity. Everyone was reduced to simple roles. Honestly, Kotonoha exists to be pitied without personality. She is simply there to fill the role of the ingenue that is cheated upon. Makoto exists to cheat on her, and is a scumbag. His role is a scumbag, and that all he is. Sekai exists to be the seducer, the person who scumbag cheats with. I would argue simple characters abiding by their roles are not a flaw in many anime, especially more comedic ones, but for something claiming to be psychological, it sure is simplistic with its portrayal of what should be fully fledged human beings in terrible situations. Hence why I unanimously hate the genre of human driven drama, essentially. Most are shallow depictions of human nature, mere caricatures blatantly existing for their story roles, and by extension, not feel like human beings. Human beings usually have a more complex rationale, more personality, interests. Oh, that and the anime is drawn out and boring, perhaps due to the personalities. Sorry, seeing Kotonoha raped by Taisuke would only elicit sympathy if she was not the equivalent of a sexually attractive puppy. Give me something anime. |

| Moved from Anime Discussion I liked it. The ending was, in my eyes, properly set up from the beginning of the show, which was already a dark twist on the typical romance/comedy that normally descends into drama. Here, it really descends into drama, which I felt was hilarious looking back at it. It was well made, albeit quite cruel in execution. |
| It's easily the worst anime I've ever seen. Almost every character is garbage, the story makes me want to facepalm my forehead into oblivion, and not even the animation is good. The only good thing about the show is the ending, even though it's basically just for the shock value. I've only seen the show once, and that was like 4 years ago. My opinion might change on a re-watch, but I doubt it. |

| Not the worst thing I've ever watched. I definitely have seen worse. At the beginning it was really boring and uninteresting to watch. The characters were absolutely horrible and that is the biggest problem. It got even more dramatic which was a good thing because Drama almost makes every Anime more interesting to watch. The ending was really suprising and really messed up. |

| I think School Days is one of the best harems for the following reason: - It misled you into thinking its going to be a typical harem - It showed the real consequences of having multiple girls falling for the one person - Its an emotionally conflicting show that is hard to watch - Worst Protagonist in any harem, in a sense that he became a nymphomaniac and the point is, he is mean't be unlikable, and so does the girls. - The ending - More realistic than most harems All in all, School Days shows you what could actually happen if such decisions were made. Be it the main character, the main heroine or the support characters. All their decisions lead to consequences that are irreversible and it stays throughout the course of the anime. So yeah, I'd say its a masterpiece because it shows the most realistic theme in an absurb situation. So in a way, School Days is one of a kind that does it right. Speaking this for the anime perspective. Manga and game would be a whole different story. |
