Okay, fine. He's a-okay. No problem, whatsoever. Perfectly sane.

Well, probably many other men lived with pillows without the consend of the Lord, living in sin.

This was probably not the first case.

>so why is he insane and why does it matter
>HE'S INSANE BECAUSE I SAID SO

Yeah, you keep on doing that. Did you know that a rather sensible definition of 'insanity' is failing to adhere to reason? Which is what you are doing right now? Because plain assertion is an informal fallacy?

Really, what is so bad about this purported mental instability - don't hide between vague terms, explicate. Does it make him likelier to kill someone? Does it make him likelier to become a crab? Does it make him likelier to fap so hard over his waifu that he rends this false vacuum we live in asunder and we are all annihilated? Does it make himless reasonable? Does it make him a National Socialist?

In short - it doesnät matter if you think you can call him mentally unstable, it matters why you think so, and it matters why you think this is a bad thing. Labels explain little, they indicate.

I..don't want to see Feito pillow with someone like that. I'm pretty sure she would prefer getting her own waifu.

Kaiser, you are being such an evil smart jer- meanie.

Insane huh. At the very least his perception of "normal" is a bit more warped than for other people in general. I suppose, calling it a deviation would work, since it's certainly going..kinda..astray.

So like, this brings new meaning to the expression, "pillow talk."

You know what I'm talkin' about.

Thirdly, iit's as much a body pillow as a human is a body.

Yeah, he loves that pillow for what's inside.

Cotton.

Hey, remember Cast Away, where Tom Hanks paints a face on a volley ball and gives it a name because he's so ronery he's deluding himself into believing the ball can be imbued with a personified presence? Or in Lars and the Real Girl, Lars is so broken that he needs a doll to enable him to reenter society?

Look, I'm all for reveling in imagination and finding a emotional and spiritual connection in fiction and myth, but this is about as archaically mental as literally believing you are imbibing Christ your Lord's bodily fluids at Sunday mass.

Or that an inanimate object (an idol?) will return your love.

You can't expect this to be taken seriously. Throwing a fit about people's derision is tantamount to crying hysterically at the age of twenty or so when someone tells you Santa Claus isn't real.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE HUMAN RACE!? HOW CAN A PERSON MARRY AN INANIMATE OBJECT?

I bet this guy is just a little messed up in the head. When he's older, he'll look back and say "Fuckme".

And that poses the question, how would one divorce an inanimate object?

Anyway, falling in love with a pillow is fucking retarded and not in a cute way.

Wake me up in a few decades or so, when someone falls in love with an advanced A.I.

That might actually be interesting.

The ones taking this seriously must surely be those who cry the end of the world, that they lost their faith in humanity, that he is a pathetic, sad excuse for a human being, as opposed to someone who doesn't care either way as long as he's having fun?

Really, what annoys me is that y'all say all those things without justification. I doubt you can justify why humping cloth makes anyone more or less retarded, for example. We've had this thread many times in the past, and it's always the same thing. No one can supply a reason for their derision past the vaguest nonsense about normality. Why don't you think about what you say? Why be an intolerant, uncritical accepter of gut feeling? Of course, be it because it's comfortable to be intellectually lazy, and it feels good to look down on people for not being like you.

Or maybe it's just because I lack any respect for romance and find it ridiculous to begin with, that I cannot empathise with those who do and see their ideal of it spat upon by a korean lad with cotton.

No offense, that kinda sounds like what you're doing to us, and as for being "intellectually lazy" or "intolerant" I assure you, I'm neither. But to criticize someone for expressing shock and inacceptance of man in holy matrimony with a pillow is taking it too far. A man shouldn't married to an inanimate object, and take that relationship seriously, that is a sign of serious mental problems, therapy might be key there. The natural way of human methods and responses is to have relations with another person, whether it be a hetero or homosexual relation for the emotional and intellectual stimulation that is neccessary in a proper relationship. A pillow cannot provide these things. By having this sort of relation with an inanimate object, the person is clearly projecting preconcieved notions of the reality of women, or desired romantic companionship in an attempt to escape reality. Delusions such as these can be dangerous, especially to the person who harbors them regardless of the "comedic aspect" of such a thing: a man marrying his moe pillow. If this relationship is some sort, joke or good fun experiment, fine, I don't care, go for it. But if a man is seriously harboring romantic feelings and deep thoughts for a pillow or "absent companion" as I would say, that is the sign of mental imbalance, hence the natural opposition people would express towards this sort of thing; mental imabalance, or problems should not be encouraged. They should be treated with proper therapy, and to anyone who doesn't feel falling in love marrying an object that is incapable of expressing love, thought, emotion, desire, or even communication is wrong, well... good luck with that.

Uh, you quoted the wrong guy, ace. I didn't say any of that.

Kaiser, I have no response for you. You don't even know how funny you are, and your blathering about others being "intellectually lazy" while you put forth these hilariously absurd arguments (with your typical doses of spurious condescension) is not even worth a dignified response. I guess you might be trolling, but I think you're actually not, which is even worse.

If you "hate romance," why are you even posting here? Do you think anyone cares about your sociopath views on love, especially in respect to the subject of a man marrying a fucking pillow? This isn't about anyone's "ideal" of romance. So many things wrong with your thinking...

It's not up to you to decide whether Kaiserpingvin's thinking is wrong or right, as well as it is not your decision whether the thinking of this korean man is wrong or right. But at least he (Kaiser) actually thinks, unlike you apparently. There's not a single post in this whole thread explaining why it is wrong to have romantic feelings towards a fictional character (which is printed on a pillow in this case) besides the 'abnormality' argument. There's absolutely no harm in marrying a "fucking pillow", no one is hurt and no one will be in the future. Neither is there any danger whatsoever.

I fully support Kaiser in all of his statements (well, besides the "lack of respect for romance", but that's just personal taste).

I don't think the argument here is the fact anyone thinks this hurts anyone. Rather, the fact that this is an unhealthy look at life, and I see no healthy sense in hiding in false reality to the point of love with an object. Hell, he can do what he wants, but I don't think a single person on this board is an idiot because they are not accepting of it. It is out of the norm and it is a sign of a mental instability. Not to the extreme point, but clearly this man has some issues.

I do not look down upon this man because he doesn't "conform to standards of normalcy." I don't look down on him period. But it is a out of the ordinary to fall for an object. Because it cannot return love that is needed to constitute a relationship.

That's my piece.

I'm sorry. I read through your post, but I can't find a single argument.
Even if it was a sign of "mental imbalance" (which falls under the 'abnormality' argument category I (and Kaiser long before me) mentioned and which is by itself rather vague) that still doesn't explain why it is wrong. Where's the harm in it and where's the danger you mentioned?
