| Chaika's name consists of the names of two cars: the Chaika limousine, which was manufactured in the Soviet Union and the Trabant automobile from the GDR. The Chaika was manufactured by the automobile group GAZ (Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod), from which Arthur Gaz, Chaika's father, apparently has his name. The Trabant was manufactured by VEB (volkseigener Betrieb, people-owned enterprise) Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in the GDR. Chaika is the russian word for gull, while Trabant (Slavonic "the companion") describes an (natural or artificial) object, which orbits a heavenly body. In German it means moon or satellite. Additionally, Acura is a brand name belonging to Honda. There are also Robert Abarth (italian car manufacturer and tuner), Nikolai Avtotor (russian car manufacturer), Karen Bombardier (manufacturer of planes and trains in Canada), Matthäus Callaway (US car manufacturer), Bernard Chizeta (Cizeta, italian sports car), Albéric Gillette (Gillet, belgian car manufacturer), Selma Kenworth (Kenworth Trucks, USA), Grad Lancia, Hasumin Orlo (Orlo, a car from 1904), Simon Scania (Sweden), Theobald Setra (bus brand of Daimler), Dominica Skoda and Konrad Steinmetz (Opel Tuning, Germany, probably). Chaika Bohdan's last name is a version of Bogdan. Bogdan Corporation is an automobile-manufacturing group in the Ukraine. What do you think about that? |
