| Jeezus, finally Yugo is gone. He went mad after finding out the truth and tried to climb his way up to Zalem. I like the defense system the pipes to Zalem have to kill the rats that climb up and prevent anyone from doing the same. Yugo manages to make it far up the pipe before getting cut up and falling off. Alita manages to catch him in time, but his arm break apart and he falls to his death. Hopefully! Now Alita is close to Zalem, so will that be her next destination? |
| Wait, Yugo is dead? Just like that? I mean, I didn't like his character but still I thought he'd play somewhat of a major role in the story. I'm very disappointed. And in the previous chapters Alita tried very hard to save Yugo, but now she just let him fall to his death? I get there wasn't a lot she could do. But still. 2/5 |

| This shit felt way too forced. But, Yugo really out here catching strays man, no breaks at all. I hope Alita bounces back from this swiftly. |
| This was great. Loved how Yugo and Alita served as foils to each other concerning naivety. Yugo was young and foolish when he joined in on Vector's black market, and years later he still could not wake up to the reality that the promise was never going to happen. He ended up just like his brother; an Icarus figure who let his dreams pull him out of a grounded life and suffered for it. Alita's amnesia has left her in a state of discovering (or perhaps rediscovering?) pubescent romance. Her naive "first love" style of romance lead her to do any and everything to keep up this young man's dream, and yet she can't accept the reality either. Her futile attempts to help him out in the long run just resulted in him breaking down and losing it. A great tragedy that was short, simple, well executed, and effective. These replies on this thread (and on the previous chapters) are quite humorous to me. God forbid that a mangaka actually gives their characters notable flaws that tie into thematic writing. |
