Dragon ball z dub was amazing and is by far better than the sub but other than that there's only a few dubs that beat original sub

Baccano!, it's not only good, but also helped the immersion.
Cowboy Bebop too.

Dragon ball no doubt the japanese seiyuu of goku is really...... IDK why shonens love a girl to voice a main character.

Cowboy bebop sub and dub is equal
Code geass sub and dub is equal

Ive watched a few dubs before going subs back then but most subs are better.

The only one I could think of (since I don't watch dub) is Ghost Stories.

imao, I just remembered someone saying on a sub/dub forum that the English VA sucked at the part where Spike says "Bang!". He said that there was a big difference between the original "Bang" and English one.

There's tons of dubbed anime that are better than their subbed counterpart.

Afro Samurai was actually recorded in English language originally not Japanese but was originally animated by a Japanese animation studio Gonzo

Panty & Stocking and Beck are both objectively better in dubbed in English because the original Japanese versions are full of poorly spoken Engrish.

I think the dubbed VA's got the characters spot on in these. ☺

That would be any anime would a good English dub. By virtue of being in the language most familiar to you they are already superior.
The question isn't "What anime do you like?" That is merely a list.
The question is "Why do you like it?" That tells a story, your story.
Dubs are great.

I think Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill have better English dub than the original, still prefer the original personally since I am just the type of person who prefers to hear things in the original language (not just anime). I watched a bunch of clips of those two in dub tho and gotta say some of the characters feel more lively than in the original.

Ooh look we got sub elitists here. Maybe watching dubs of shows like baccano, bebop will open up your mind.

I haven't watched a lot of English Dubs - but Black Lagoon was really great. Probably even "better" than the Japanese version. Revy's English in the JP version is horrible.

Also I liked Taiga's [Toradora] English Seiyuu more than her Japanese voice.

What if Japanese VA's were the same quality and used the same emotions as Enlgish VA's, but since you're familiar with English you can point out the faults where as with Japanese you can't understand it, therefore are paying more attention which leads to you believing that Japanese VA's are better
🤔

I could just quote your post every time when "dub" thread is appearing :D

In anime ofc.

But nah, everywhere. Every movie/game/tv series/whatever is always better in original language. Watching dubs is like listening to cover bands (it's actually worse, because cover bands are using original texts, not heavily altered).

No, it's just a fact. Dub can be good (like Polish dub for Claw game - old 2d platformer), but dub will NEVER be superior to original.

Panty & Stocking

Panty & Stocking is a different story. This series was written to be dubbed in English. It's basically a western cartoon.

Plus the Japanese were involved in the dub for Panty and Stocking, encouraging Funimation to push things even further in the English script than the Japanese one in terms of explicitness.

The Engrish in Panty and Stocking may be hilarious, but the crudity and performances of the dub are also great.

Dragon Ball for sure. Apart from that I dunno, first season of Yu-Gi-Oh maybe, that dubbing was waaay over the top but it was fun.

+1

Ms Cassandra Lee is iconic as Taiga. Her Taiga was equal parts bratty and melancholic. "Forever and ever" indeed. That line still gives me feels.

It's like listening rammstein in english = it has no point then.

Yeah, both of you are right, and that's why Panty & Stocking has such a great dub (also Monical Rial and Jamie Marchi are very talented dubbers)

Definitely My Hero Academia season one and two, along with Gamers! and Mob Psycho 100. Reigen's voice was perfect in the dub.

I can't really say that much more, since most of the dubbed anime I've watched, I never watched the sub for. Even so, I really do like the dubs of Little Witch Academia, Gurren Lagann, Log Horizon, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Actually, I did try to watch a few episodes of the dubbed Monster Musume and I gave up. The English voices made it so much weirder and cringy.
