Well,,, that was it. Finally.

2/5

Very underwhelming part after the Yasha chapter. Apart from trying to be different and to up the conflict scale, being a primitive St Seiya (eternal cycle of Holy War between god-like beings, Cosmo/universe, reincarnations, sentient equipment, revolt against God) and removing the ESPers from the equation, there is nothing to appreciate here. The nature of the duels presented in the Holy Swords chapter prevents any good thrilling superpower fight to be held, wich is why the first series worked.
To add to the fault, most of the previous heroes cast is swept away to bring novelty in the team too, but all the new members "shine" by their total lack of identity (yes, the young Fûma had a semblance of traits), and they have no charisma just like their ennemies here.
Finally, the apparent total disconnection of this story with the first one makes even harder to get onboard with the delirium.

Technically, it's equivalent to the previous OAVs. The punchy opening helps to start each episode in the "good mood".

Score: 3/10 Totally failed innovation attempt in a series.

Kojirou defeated Chaos, ending the 4000 year war, and now all the swords, including Furinkazan are gone, and Kojirou has returned to Earth.

This was pretty good. I'd say that it was on par with the previous arc.

Great finale. Not the bloodiest battle but one full of emotions! I like the idea that a human could change the history that the gods created. Are they all really dead, though?

Chaos seems to be from the same "school" as Souchi, wish we could get more backstory on this characters.

You can see a lot of ideas that Kurumada would later use in Saint Seiya for sure.

I really liked it overall. The two parts are quite disconnected but you can see here that Kurumada is still honing his skills as a mangaka.
