| @sasalx I'll only warrant the first two because the others are sequels. Part of why I say such things is because there is such a heavy reliance on sequel or spin-off material. It's a long winded rant, so I won't really get into it. @Brb I'm more inclined to believe you with the 800+ completed exposure (given most are not music videos or shorts, that is). Much of my overexposure is what leads me to make statements like this, where I see only more sequel material and recycled formulas every season. Is there much of this season that you enjoy that doesn't fall into what I described? If so, do share. |

| This season has quite a few shows that have already completely crumbled, of which I think a few of which had quite some hype going about it. This is probably why there's an illusion somehow that the season is terrible. There seems to be 1 or 2 standout shows in the 8s. Some shows in the mid 7s. And some pretty terribly rated shows. Seems like a pretty average season, if consensus / popular opinion / MAL ratings matter (which they don't), which you seem to care about. As of the 12 anime I'm watching this season, it is pretty underwhelming. Apparently the anime I've decided to pick up this isn't those standout shows (at least by consensus), but I'll pick them up soon-ish (and as always go in with no expectations, not letting how well-received it is raise my expectations). Most of the shows I'm watching hasn't really amazed me, of which I'm just watching because they really haven't done anything wrong yet. This season does have anime that are actually pretty terrible despite the hype that surrounded it. I think that it's an underwhelming season for me too. |

| @Chandela Simply from a numerical standpoint. Barring sequels, last season had only 2 or 1 stellar show, with the rest being stock standard or simply failing, whereas this season already has 2 guaranteed good shows, and maybe more depending how it pans out. |

| I thought this season was doomed at first but Kakegurui completely saved it for me... Maybe MiA too except I haven't started it yet and a few others showing early potential like Princess Principal and Ballroom. I see 5's and 6's every season though, you will see 7's or 8's still for all the hyped shows. Nothing new at all there. This season only feels lacking because of all the crazy hyped sequels that aired in spring, but comparing it to other recent seasons it's really not bad at all. |
