I started the Monogatari Series with Owarimonogatari; meaning I didn't see the previous 62 episodes... Still ended up loving it to infinite heights. Though I watched all the other entries in release order.

I made the same mistake with Nodame Cantabile.

I noticed that I watched s2 after I finished it.

So I had asked a question on Quora about an anime series that has a gripping plot progression.
This caught my attention-

So I watched 13 eps and was enjoying, though it was confusing here and there.
The while studying tonight I decided to listen to the full op of this anime

But by the time it finished I realised that the 1:30 portion used in the anime never came!

and that's when I saw this-

DAMN THAT KAI

Yes, laugh all you want....

But now please someone help me! What should I do to escape this sense of despair!

Yeah once :)

Seitokai Yakuindomo Season 2 lol :)
I thought it was season 1 only I laid my eyes on the OVA' series and the actual Season 1 WTF XD

Surprising enough, that I am not alone but seriously what's the harm in mentioning "s2" in the title?
Why are u even reading this?

I almost watched Kizumonogatari before Bakemonogatari and Ghost in the Shell: Arise before the 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie, I think that counts.

EDIT: I've also watched Eromanga-sensei before Oreimo

The only thing that comes to mind for me is Dragon Ball.

I read up to the end of volume 9 of the Dragon Ball manga then I eventually just started watching Dragon Ball Kai.

I did it on purpose though because I knew I would miss nothing in the original Dragon Ball anime or even anything in DBZ.

No, never happened to me. I always check things on MAL first. But I remember that when I was watching Shiki I somehow watched ep 16 before ep 15. I was just really tired on that day I guess. Also, when I was watching Alien 9 I watched ep 4 before ep 3, but it was because of wrong files names.

Not really with anime. There are series that I didn't watch in order but all the parts had different characters and stories so it didn't really matter (I've seen the original YuGiOh and 5D's, but not GX, ZEXAL past the first few eps, or Arc-V)

Read the original YuGiOh and Dragon Ball manga out of order but I had already seen the anime of both (I only read the manga volume of DBZ that showed one of my favorite parts) and I also started Higurashi from the Atonement Arc.

I'd say the only time anything similar happened to me was watching Dragonball Z before Dragonball, but that was before I knew what the word anime was and my only source of media was the TV.

so did you finish the series and then went to previous season?

if so did you enjoy it more or less having already seen the second season?

After I finished FMA I saw somewhere FMA episode 52 and I was
ecstatic, I was thinking they continued the anime. I watched 2 whole
episodes and I understood nothing. But after some googleling I
discovered that FMA brotherhood was a remake of the old FMA.
How about that...

not mistaking it for the beginning, but when I started watching One Piece, on TV, it was somewhere "in the middle" of it. Wasn't really much of a problem, I did not expect to understand everything, was still fun.
Lucky for me, soon after they re-ran the show from the beginning. Maybe it is because I watched later stuff before, that I actually liked the beginning, never found it "too slow" or sth.

I know that feeling. Apparently there are 2 ways you can watch it, which is the order in which their aired on TV which makes Bakemonogatari first. Or the story's chronological order which makes it 3rd in the order. I've watched half of Bakemonogatari years ago and from what I remember it made sense by itself. I was going to rewatch it but ended up rewatching other anime instead.

I watched all episodes of Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? Of the dead then I just realized that there's another series called Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? in my harddisk. I don't know why but the second season is appeared before the first season (maybe the sorting is just messed up).
And the second one is Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S though I realized it soon enough and didn't watch the entire series like I did before lol

I watched the revival show The New Twilight Zone before I even discovered The Twilight Zone. It didn't help that both series had totally different french re-titles during their first broadcasts.

Also, I read Needful Things before The Dark Half. (or even Cujo, but it's less related)

Something similar happened to me a couple years back, and I ended up watching the first ep of Black Butler 2 instead of Black Butler.

More accurately, I ended up watching the first five minutes of Black Butler 2, then projectile vomiting.

phantom blood was meh, there were two good things about it tbh. part 2 was much better, infact part 1 is pretty much a fist of the north star fanfic. 7=4 >2 > 3> 5 >6>1

Wrong. Part one is both the most important (along with 3 and 6) and one of the most complex. The thing is that it takes various times to see it. Part 2 is a one-trick pony. Part 3 is fine. Part 4 is awesome. Part 5 is better than 3 but the same. Part 6 is ok, good start, weak end. Part 7 is alright, but the hero is terrible and the villain is "deep". Part 8 is awesome.

you're on drugs fam, the ending of part 6 is irrelevant because part 7 and 8 make no reference to it alone.

As for part one it does almost thing for the plot. There is literally 2 aspects to it that continue into the rest of the series unlike the part 3. While part 3 essentially creates the format for the rest of series. In terms of actual effect on the series there is null. The power in part 1 is discontinued in part 3. The characters only make an appearance in part 2. While it does reintroduce a reoccurring villain, it could be said he is effects on the series are due to part 3 not part 1. As his actions in part 3 are what effect the series, not part 1.

And part one has the most simplistic and straight forward plots in the series. Part 7, part 4 and even part 3 hard more complicated plot lines. I get it, you like part 1, but that shit is meh. Even araki said that he regrets how he made part 1. And putting part 2 at the bottom is blasphemy.
