Is it just exploring the depth of Abyss? Is there an ultimate goal like One Piece that go on adventure to find 'One Piece'?

Riko thinks that Reg came from the bottom of the abyss for reasons you will soon learn and Riko's mother wrote to Riko a letter saying that she's waiting for her at the bottom of the abyss

There characters have various motivations, I'd say the main priority is finding Lyza or what happened to her, that's why they are in such a hurry to do it now instead of waiting to grow up and learn how to be proper cave raiders, but rearching the bottom of the abyss and uncovering all it's misteries was always Riko's dream even before Lyza's letter. And there's also Reg's unknown origin to drive them forward.

The manga hints that the abyss swallows the surface each 2000 years, so probably thats where the story is going. For now, the MCs are just trying to find Lyza and explore the abyss.

This is a spoiler from the latest chapter and it's a theory...lol, I know he said he wanted to be spoiled but that's a bit too much

The manga is hinting it since the very beginning, so don't find it that much of an spoiler. It is not like I was telling him what happened in the last chapter or something...
