But, seriosuly, this episode elevated the series beyond anything I could have expected ever (besides making me both laugh myself silly and electing Meteora as best girl and main character, even if she's not). It was a brilliant comment on a series that discusses some serious and interesting points in the industry of anime as a whole, while at the same time making a mid-series recap episode truly interesting and fun to watch. (Yes, I'm repeating myself, but I was so surprised by this incredible recap episode that I must praise this great show by any means I can) ![]() |

On the other side... they tried to do this as entertaining as they could, and they... succeed i guess? Like, it wasn't awful, but still i would prefer normal episode. So strong "if you have to" for this episode. BTW, is it just me or is animation in this show is pretty... bland? Maybe i'm spoiled by Konosuba and Little Witch Academia, but this animation could look better. Not in an action scenes (those are great) but rest of it is pretty meh. Even though KLK 1-minute recap was genius, this is also genius in its own way (forgive me, Satsuki-sama!!!!). I never laughed so hard as when watching Sexy Meteora praising herself and then my jaw just dropped at watching her explain the recap episode AS A RECAP to us, the audience, and discuss what, in and by itself is a rather meta anime, COMPLETELY in a meta format. Seriously, I thought this series was good, but this is got to be one of the best anime episodes I've ever watched. Never thought anime would come close to experimental cinema like that! ![]() |

Zahylon said: Best Recap Episode Ever...instead of just copy/pasting the good scenes, we get Meteora to narrate everything while adding her own hillarous comments. Seeing her redesign herself into a Sexy Fate-style Caster was over the top funny, breaking the 4th wall every minute was too much fun. As I've said before: Meteora is the actual Main character, Shota is just a secondary. Yes, my feelings exactly. Also, I think this elevated the series beyond my expectations as a metalinguistical comment on the industry as a whole. Saying the designers wished Altair to be drawn in a track suit and sandals with short hair because the way she's designed is terrible to animate was a piece of genius comment! In this one episode, this show went from a fun and interesting anime to David Linch level of experiment on the ways fiction interacts with audience. I know the rest of the series will not go Twin Peaks New Season crazy, but this episode for me was a stroke of genius. Sexy Meteora may not come even close to Satsuki-sama, but she is one genius commentator to her own series, making her best series girl and main character for me in one go (even if she's not the MC). ![]() |
Minase Inori did an excellent job on Carol Dienheim, Rem and now on Meteora! The witty magician is currently my favourite person on the "good side". I rejoice in Sayaka Ohara, who voices Irisviel von Einzbern too! She gave speeches to the alternate "sexy" Meteora. I wonder if she will show again. ![]() |
I was genuinely upset about this episode at first because it started out as a recap, then Meteora was changed, and I thought, oh are they doing something different, nope they aren't. They recapped stuff and had Meteora say stupid little commentary jokes, they made fun of the character design, they broke the 4th about the directors and producers, and like I was furious when the song started playing but then it was just Meteora singing, and god I went form hating this episode to kinda feeling like a dick but still hating it at the same time because anime is hard to make and AHHHH, I'mso conflicted right now. Fuck TROYCA but also fucking I hope, I don't know man. ![]() |
this is more like the creators (i meant the creators of the re:creators) rant. Selesia isn't weak. it's not her fault. ![]() |
I loved that. Best recap episode I've ever seen. 5/7 perfect score. Best way to do a recap if I've ever seen one. Absolutely loved Meteora and her delusional little narrations. Grasshopper Glasses FTW! And sexy Meteora, yes please! The ED was great too. If they plan to use it for the rest of the series, I'm perfectly fine with that. ![]() HESTIA |
Zelev said: THIS! Someone said it thank godTo all the people that don't understand the reasoning for the recap.. she clearly said it was planned from the beginning. By watching this episode, we learned more about the backstories of some characters, and it's implied that Meteora already knew this information and most likely shared it with her allies. Therefore, it gets rid of needless "researching" later on and saves room for more "action" or "plot." It was a pretty creative recap with a purpose, so kudos for that. ![]() |

LAPX said: THIS WAS THE BEST RECAP EPISODE IVE EVER SEEN I AM DYING WHY CANT EVERY RECAP EPISODE OF EVERY SHOW BE LIKE THIS I LOVE METORA Agree. This is how you do a recap that doesn't crap all over your audience Heck I enjoyed this more than half of the episodes of the series. It had humor, wit, levity and the exposition was balanced out by action in the background. So well done. Can we keep the new Meterora?! LOL ![]() "Perhaps there is a universal, absolute truth. All muscle and no brains. Aliceteria can't hold a conversation LMAO Meteora roasting aliceteria just like us viewers hate her stupidity Best recap ever (never thought I'd enjoyed a recap episode) Meteora best gril (never a doubt) The trolling is on gintama level ![]() |
Meteora is hilarious hahahaha. The song is good.. love those osts. I actually enjoyed this recap. ![]() |
Putting recap midseason is a terrible idea, we aren't that brain damaged to not remember what happened for 12 episodes. That fanservice Meteora was cancer. ![]() |
This is how you should do a recap though. Having an intelligent and funny main character introduce the main characters and the story by making use of the strongest and most relevant parts of the plot to explain it while adding in humor. I love how Meteora just pokes fun at each of the characters though. Really hillarious especially when she does it to Altair. A mutilated mop lol. This was a really smart episode that even managed to address facts outside of the series as well. Love the new ending as well. Hmm so this is a recap episode eh. Well a lot has happened since the start of the series so a recap episode will be a good thing to put in. The description of the main plot and the relationships by Meteora was pretty well done though. It was funny to see Meteora try to rewrite the events in trying to give herself a bigger role though right down to changing her appearance. Its also funny how she pokes fun at the story as well. I like how in addition to introducing the characters the episode through Meteora also provides background info on each of their respective stories as well while also providing her own opinion of them too lol. Hmm the explanation of Selestia's fight with Mamika though was pretty funny. Blitz really is a good example of a hard boiled detective eh. Muscle brains eh lol. ![]() Signature removed. This is the first time that a recap is better than the actual series. And sexy meteora wearing Revy´s cut-off jeans was perfect, but i have to admit that i think that Altair has the best design alongside Magane. ![]() |
And this is how you do a recap episode... Damn, the meta was through the roof this time... And we got fourth-wall breaking, fan service, really concise explanations, additional bits of info, and even new animation. BTW When Meteora first appeared in her sexy form, I didn't notice she was speaking in a delusional/playful sort-of tone, almost made me question my memory and check the first episode... wasn't really expecting them to re-create animation for a recap episode (pun not intended). Loved Meteora poking fun at other characters, especially Altair (and her hair). Her cover of world etude was hilarious... I demand to hear the whole thing. You can tell they really had fun making this episode. Too bad it counts as an official episode in terms of numbering :/ Can't believe I'm giving a recap a 5/5 ![]() Modified by kchorrex2012, Jul 3, 2017 10:03 PM |

This Was Most Likely A Summary Cause In The End Its Said Episode 13 And Its Name. So We Saw Was 12.5 I Think So..... Not Sure So No Episode Wasted. On The Hand It Felt As If Meteora Was Telling Us The New Combined Story So As To Make The Good Guys Win But Later On Expanded It Cause The Readers Might Not Like It. Its All Just A Assumption. If You Feel I Was Wrong Feel Free To Quote Me And Insult Cause I Wont Kill Myself Like Selestia Or What Ever She Was Called. ![]() |
This episode was better than any of the previous ones combined (duh, it's a recap with highlights but still). It's a shame that this won't get a separate addition to the database though, (since this is a planned episode, not 13.5) because the score gap between this and the main series would've been huge for me. ![]() ~ |
So it's the first time in my life that I liked and don't skip recap episode. Not to mention that it was better than entire first half of this show. I prefer original Meteora. :DDD Altair - Mop is new enemy. ![]() "The future is always blank. Only your willpower can leave footsteps there." "Ruling over death means ruling over life. This isn't quite up to par with Utena's recaps (especially the last one) or Kill la Kill's "recap" but it's still one of the more fun ones. ![]() |
Probably the best recap episode i've seen xD It was a recap but on the other hand, it had some new stuff and funny moments. I wish there were more recaps like this. ![]() |
probably the only good episode from this show. At least it's self aware of some of its own problems. the problem is will they actually do something about it, or was this a ploy all along and the first 12 episodes were shit on purpose >_>. ![]() N.etorare T.echnical R.esearcher |

As far as recap episodes go this was a good one! Meteora narrating was fun and the way they recapped was new and interesting. I liked the part at the end where Meteora is explaining what a pain it is for the animation staff to animate Altair and her hair lol! I also thought the sexy Meteora was pretty hilarious ;) ![]() I shall rule over the realms of anime and manga! Mwahhahahahaha!!! |
For a recap I suppose this is alright. Was honestly just about to skip over it until I reached "mature" Meteora's reveal.. that was kinda funny. Same with her commentary on Altair's design. I still think recaps like this are largely unnecessary, though. It's OK just to take a week off you guys, this plot isn't that complicated! That being said they do at least try to mix things up a bit, so I'll give 'em that and I'm still quite interested to see how the story progresses in the second half. ![]() |
I've never laugh at a recap episode since maybe Martian Successor Nadesico's. normally for me when are series show out of no were try's to take comedic turn, it can fall flat or be really cringe. Yet this episode was a really breath of fresh air. But I really hope the plot gets the thumb out and get going. ![]() |
I usually skip over filler shit like recaps but this....this I don't hate. I like it. Just because something is mandatory and uneventful doesn't meant it can't be creative. That self awareness about the Anime industry from Meteroa and the show towards the end was golden. I never though a recap episode of all things would be the episode to do it but this show just moved up a notch on the list of all that is good and holy. ![]() |
Thus here is my first (well, technically second) praise toward this series: they openly admit they haven't make the ending. Here Mr. Writer, let me help you: 1. Level the dialogues. Don't make Meteora have to tell the whole story. She was a story-teller originally, yeah, but she's also a chara that is supposed to stay quiet and let the protagonist (I mean, the players that were playing the game she's from) does his job. 2. Please do let us know more about the mysterious main antagonist you're trying so hard to hide that is Uniform-hime. She's the start of the whole thing, wasn't she? ![]() |

I don't know why no one is talking about this yet, but wasn't this recap a way to ephathise the point that : The "spinoff" they were talking about in the previous episode is the thing we've been watching for 12 episodes, Re:Creators IS the solution to get viewers engaged and beat the pincess ! ![]() Modified by Grani-smith, Jul 7, 2017 3:06 PM |
I found the dialogue between Yuuya and Magane to be unintentionally, inappropriately funny - considering that the seiyuu for both are married to each other (Kenichi Suzumura and Maaya Sakamoto)... I can't help imagine the two of them talking in that context and that Hangaku is actually the code name for a female friend or something. The staff must've had some jokes about this after the voices were recorded in the studio for that episode. Considering how this recap turned into, I'm pretty sure they had their fun. ![]() |
What can I say? Perhaps the show overuses Meteora a bit, but I like her anyways. For a recap, this was alright. The reason why the recap exists isn't that the creators wanted to get some of the exposition out of the way. Instead, the recap gives the production a week to catch up with itself, so that the crew doesn't go crazy from trying to keep up with the tight production schedule. I'm referring to this line: If we're lucky, the recap will allow the next episodes to look even better. My only complaint is that the recap was only announced recently, and so it's a bit disappointing to find out now that we won't actually get 22 "true" episodes as we expected. I wouldn't mind it at all if this had been announced in April. Tonysol67 said: will they actually do something about it, or was this a ploy all along and the first 12 episodes were shit on purpose >_>. If you hold such a low opinion of the first 12 episodes, I can almost guarantee that you won't like the rest either. I'm not telling you to drop it, just pointing out that it's silly to hope that the series will suddenly take a complete 180 in the second half. I've done it before and disappointment was the result every single time. ![]() Modified by LeeTailor, Jul 8, 2017 11:49 AM |
