Re:Creators Episode 13 Discussion

Episode is out on Anime Strike.

Meh, just recap stuff this week with most of the important events and narration by Meteora. I guess doing a recap at the half way point in some ways makes sense as a way to get ready for the second half/cour. Kinda hyped to see where this is going.

Well, to be honest even if the recap has some good parts (Meteora's parts were hilarious), it shouldn't be counted as an episode. So they wasted one official episode in a recap. Let's hope that the next week the leave the "conference" room because the lack of pacing and the excesive bricks of information without a fluent motion is getting boring.

Finally, the ED song was nice.

I forgot, we already knew all that information :D

This was a so-so episode. Nothing much happened, recapping what happened.

When a "(planned) recap" episode is a lot better than actual episode lmao.

This was actually entertaining for a recap episode. Meteora's parts had me laughing, and it was interesting to see her breaking the fourth wall throughout the episode. Lol at "all brawn, no brain" Aliceteria.

Really hyped for the 2nd half of the series though.

Holy shit I couldn't have asked for something better.

This is hilarious omg and also that ED is just wow, amazing.

Fortunately is not a normal recap. I also think that if they want to make a recap it was better to not use an official episode.

However, it was funny. We also know more about the story of the creation.

Yuya's and Magane's story seem interesting.

The video of Altair was good. I really liked the song.

Oh well, an episode no matter what its current "content" shown or re-tell from different perspective is still count as an episode.

Shouldn't this be listed as 12.5 instead of 13 if it's a recap?

Well, it was pretty much a recap but Meteora's commentary was awesome especially the one at the end about Altair and the future of the show. XD

This is how you do a recap that won't bore everyone.

I think we got a little more insight into the individual stories. Might be important because Altair mentioned that she wants to bring more creations to life.

Dat new ending tho.

This recap was as entertaining as the Kekkai Sensen one

Not really because the producers wasted the 13 on a recap as we can see it in the official Japanese program schedule. Other series do that but no this one. One recent example is Sin, they have two recaps now and haven't wasted an official episode in that recaps.

It was to be expected to get a recap at this point, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, after 12 weeks it was a good refresher.

Yeah I just saw that they listed it as 13. That makes me think now that we only have 9 episodes left instead of 10 which kind of worries me. Not really sure what to think about it.

That was probably the best recap episode ever. Lol Meteora singing though. The fact that Meteora share the same voice as Rem, make this recap even better. Can't wait for the second opening next week

A recap episode. The one good thing was a how they gave extra information about the characters. The synopsis from Yuuya's story was interesting. So he killed his friends. He doesn't seem like the villain type though.

Mature, Sexy Meteora. 10/10. ;)

Yep exactly, I usually don't like recaps, but this one was actually cool! Also, you cannot love Meteora in this ep, so good ;) made a good plus for me as a character

To all the people that don't understand the reasoning for the recap.. she clearly said it was planned from the beginning. By watching this episode, we learned more about the backstories of some characters, and it's implied that Meteora already knew this information and most likely shared it with her allies. Therefore, it gets rid of needless "researching" later on and saves room for more "action" or "plot." It was a pretty creative recap with a purpose, so kudos for that.

Also, I can't help but notice the voice actress for Meteora narrated this whole episode as well as monologued a whole episode of Re:Zero as Rem. Is she in high demand or something?

This episode does seems like a recap BUT Meteora as an narrator, breaking the fourth wall talking to us as a audience in the theatre and introducing the characters who were involved the story that's been created by Altair into sending them from reality world.

I personally enjoyed it but some of Meteora's hilarious scene doesn't really caught my emotion, for some reasons this episode is sort of wasted of time to pick on a small comedy scene. Although this became so interesting because we're able to have a chance to get full details about the characters.

I would have loved this recap episode, but no!! They just had to do that to HIME-SAMA, Next episode, I want to see Meteora get stabbed like Mamika.

Bro, this is how anime studios should do recaps because this recap is very entertaining.

That was the best recap episode I've ever seen! Nice to see Meteora's non-emotionless side, she was both awesome and hilarious in this episode. Also, the way they re-introduced characters was creative as well. I love how she even made fun of paranoids who complain about the industry failing all the time. Other anime should learn from Re:Creators, this was fucking awesome. I hope we see more recaps like this in the future.

Best Recap Episode Ever...instead of just copy/pasting the good scenes, we get Meteora to narrate everything while adding her own hillarous comments.

Seeing her redesign herself into a Sexy Fate-style Caster was over the top funny, breaking the 4th wall every minute was too much fun.

As I've said before: Meteora is the actual Main character, Shota is just a secondary.

Can we keep the new Meteora?

On one side... It's goddamned recap episode. And as we all know most of them range from awful to "if you have to" episodes. Except Kill la kill recap episode. On the other side... they tried to do this as entertaining as they could, and they... succeed i guess? Like, it wasn't awful, but still i would prefer normal episode. So strong "if you have to" for this episode.
BTW, is it just me or is animation in this show is pretty... bland? Maybe i'm spoiled by Konosuba and Little Witch Academia, but this animation could look better. Not in an action scenes (those are great) but rest of it is pretty meh.

Sound like a happy version for the second OP and AL:Lu... I think that one is included in their soundtrack album which can be found at youtube.

This was the only episode of this show that I hated(up until now)

I can understand that people loved this episode for the in-jokes and Meteora breaking the fourth-wall,it's something that can make an episode really enjoyable,specially after like 3 episodes of full info-dumping, but I didn't like it because,when you think about it,it has some serious problems:

#1-Recap episode,something that always hurts the narrative.
#2-Full of in-jokes and fourth-wall breaking that change what really happened in the story up until now, thus hurting the whole purpose of a recap episode.
#3-The whole episode was exposition through dialogue,not only goes against "show, don't tell" but also;
#4-It made clear that the staff didn't do a good job in characterization up until now,you can tell that by the tons of information about the characters that was revealed in this episode that they didn't bother to explain in 12.
#5-The fourth-wall breaking and the commentary about the industry and how the people see it reminded me that this show could have been a meta-commentary type of show in early episodes,but changed to another battle royale type of show where the characters spent most of the time talking instead of fighting...

But oh well,it's good to see that the rest actually enjoyed it.
