| And here I'd thought Thunderbolt was too short. Well, you sure showed me, Sunrise! Hopefully if/when Sunrise stitch this together into an actual OVA, they'll fill in the gaps as well. They'd probably have to up the total length from 18 minutes to around 30 minutes to be able to give Twilight Axis anything resembling a fair shake, but do I think they'll do that? Judging by Sunrise's recent history... no, not really. At most, I'd expect a full OVA release of Twilight Axis to have around 2 minutes of additional content. I doubt that would be enough to make it coherent. And knowing Sunrise, that 2 minutes would just be another fight scene or a sequel hook. 2/5. |

| While the episode has all it needs to introduce subtly the initial situation (to the concerned people at least, and if they didn't forget about certain 0079 details), the brutal editing makes the three minutes seem pretty heavy. 3/5 Nice commercial for the novel. PS: yet another confirmation that the Sazabi's glory can't be rendered properly in this digital era. edit @albara614 No, it isn't but you are almost right. It is a variation on the "newtype-enhanced" RX78 made for Amuro but destroyed by Bernard in War in the Pocket, made by recycling parts. edit @CodeBlazeFate Didn't I warn you not to blink once? ^^ I think you'll get more out of this than out of the ONA series, clearly made to advertise it and to produce more kits. You don't even need to read the actual translated novel (available on the same page), just read the synopsis or characters summaries. | Jesus Christ, this first ep was horribly edited....Barely anything made sense and it just felt like a kid threw random scenes together This really should have been treated like how the other series are....I doubt that I'm gonna continue watching this |
| Terrible editing, and pacing. People just thought things happened in Tomino's works without motivation. This is like Tomino on steroids. I guess this series is more for fans of the novel. I'm just disappointed we aren't getting six, 30 minute episodes because the story sounds interesting. |

| Jank scene editing and fucked pacing. Dull AF. Tomino can pace better even in Garzey's Wing. Also, everything and nothing happened all at once. Crushed everything before the plot actually began. |
