Hands down the most creepy, scary (scary: adj; something that is able to induce fear, terror, or sudden shock) anime I've watched is Elfen Lied.

Surprisingly though it never brought a single nightmare or ounce or paranoia apon me, witch is wierd. Woulda though the stuff like children being decapitated or something woulda been enough...

Probably the Blood-stained Labyrinth arc of Ghost Hunt.

It was way more scary than Higurashi imo.

I have seen Vampire Hunter D films, and I didn't find them scary, but I did love the different creatures, the blood and fantasicalness of it.

I found them a little creepy, but nothing which scared me in the slightest. I love horror films in general (well done ones) but only one made me scared and I don't know why that one so much: Event Horizon.

Otherwise scary stuff usually makes me laugh, because they are trying so hard to scare you.

Video games on the other hand....oh but yes! many of them have creeped me out...but I loved it! :-D

Higurashi scared the crap out of me when I first watched it.
Ghost Hunt (the manga) scared me aswell, with the doll. Since I have a phobia of dolls anyway.
Jigoku Shoujo had some pretty disturbing episodes.

Well out of what I have watched probably claymore was the most darkest, devious and gore filled anime. It was, I guess a little scary, but I am sure their are anime out there that are much more scary then claymore though.

So far so good...
I just need to watch more Horror animes and the only one I find scary would be

Ghost Hunt
Higurashi Series
Elfen Lied (Due to Gore, First time for everything.)

So practically, what is the scaries tanime you watched (put aside from my bad english)

I have huge interest in kids being psychotic Horror like Higurashi (Turns me on)

None. It's difficult to be scared of 2D.Live movies have better chances of creeping me out like The Ring (well, that one just a little).

But I will say

NecTuce -->
Ghost Hunt had a few creepy moments. The most creepy was with the Doll. When it rolls up to the camera. oh boy did that send shivers up my spine.

You say.

I crawled under my table and sat there in fetal position till someone came to feed me and dragged me back.

Ghosts at School. Saw it yeeeears ago. Prolly won't scare me now if I watch it again, but at that time it made me afraid of mirrors and kept me from peaceful sleeps.

So far, nothing. However, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni would be the closest equivalent to 'scared', I guess.

Higurashi no Naku koro ni, especially the first story when Rena tried to force her way in Keiichi's house.

Rena quotes like: "why do you lie to me?!" and "Liar" made me scream "im sorry!!!" to my screen.

I don't think I've seen any scary anime. The closest one would probably be Higurashi. Ghost Hunt had some creepy moments iirc, but nothing really scary.

So far only Higurashi has scared me.
With the first arc how Rena's eyes go all scary, and how she follows Keiichi through his house and listens to his phone call. Obviously it's not as scary now, but it creeped me out the first time that I saw it.

Higurashi had me in the fetal position at points. Can't think of any other anime to induce that.

Although I can agree with you some what.
But It can be the Idea of what is going on.
If you are by your self, Watching something about ghost, regardless of whether or not the material is actually scary, You still have the idea of ghost in your mind.

And I don't really find how people found higurashi scary.
Suspenseful yes, but scary?
Maybe its just me.

I don't think anime is capable of becoming too scary.

The scariest scene I've seen.... Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni... the very first arc.

that's about it.

special mention to Ghost Hunt.

I guess it's scary compare to all other I've seen. Some moments are can be scary.

Okay, I admit I'm a scardy cat that gets spooked easily by horror flicks and scary stories... but anime has not managed to scare me! lol
The only thing close was when I was creeped out while watching Gantz... I think it was near the end of the first season, with those chick things that turn into robots that look like Rock Lee >_>

i really hate gore :P but i guess Higurashi no Naku Koro ni as its one of the only ones ive watched that was goreish :P
and about the comment "if you get scared by anything 2d somethings wrong"
i dont think there is anything in real life or even 3d that can be called scary unless u live in a weird area where ppls limbs fly off infront of you or someone gets killed every day :P
ppl made horror because they wanted it in the end of the day

Well, it's more of a psychological thriller, but it kept me on edge the entire series.

The Gardin of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai).

Geez! So many gruesome things happen, but that's the thrill of it. Who done it? What's happening next? D:

And then at the end it all ties together in a neat little (somewhat bloody) bow. <3

Anime with pink haired boys scares the living shit out of me.

No, but seriously, I don't get why people find Higurashi scary o.o Bloody, yes, freaky, yes, but scary? Then again I need to see alot more of 'horror' anime x3 (How is Ayakashi horror anyway? It's a girl with a freaking muscle-monster as a buddy. Dude. Wtf?)
