| Actually on Monday I met first time with a Japanese woman who wants to improve her German(And I want to improve my Japanese). And literally all stereotypes were fulfilled. To get some infos about her I was like(My level is very basic): 私は17歳です。(I'm 17 years old) 何歳ですか。(How old are you?) And she answers just 二十六歳です。(I am NiiJuRoku(26) years old). My brain was instantly blown at that time. My (basically girl-)friend is 25. And this Japanese Girl is one year older. When I met her I fucking thought she were 16 or 17 like me. WTF. Second thing, the obvious Pervert thing xD And that was just cliche as fuck too. I wanted to ask her if she got a older or younger sister so I asked "o-nee-sama o motte imasu ka" but as you can see I used oneesama instead of oneesan. She instantly tells me "I think you mean O-Nee-San, only perverts and weaboos use O-Nee-Sama" I just escape with "Oh, I just thought Sama is more polite than San"and she is fine. But really, did I catch a semi-loli tsundere? I am afraid. Pls halp 4cha... urm... MAL |

The craziest thing was for example that she was basically apologizing for anything every two minutes or so. And she was very overpolite in general. Why wake up? It's not the type of girl I'd want as GF. It was just funny how she was so stereotypical |
| I often see foreign people who use weaird Japanese and most of them are influenced by anime, otaku culture. As we so often see foreigner who like anime in which many characters use strange,which native never use in daily conversation, they are clearly found they are into anime. But don't worry about that if you want to improve your Japanese. As you study Japanese,you will find correct way to use Japanese. |
| This thread has me laughing my butt off. I regularly practice Japanese with native speakers so I've gotten to know quite a few Japanese women. Trust me when I say they are just as varied as women in any country. I've met quite a few that are not stereotypical whatsoever. Variety. It's the spice of life. |
| I would actually come prepared to speak Japanese. Getting things right the first time matters to me. I plan to have a functioning understanding of it. |
