The manga takes place in Ogaki City in southern Gifu Prefecture (which is the hometown of the author), and the KyoAni team made frequent visit to Ogaki for depicting the scenery as well as ponder over character development. The bridge's name is Midoribashi, written 美登鯉橋 (the Bridge Where Beautiful Koi Fishes Ascend, literary).

Ogaki is just over 30 min by rapid train from Nagoya City, 760 yen by JR.

I'm not sure who's own this blog, but every time I want to check real place location of anime, I will look up to this....almost popular anime's real location are here, same goes some scene's location on this movie like bridge, school etc....
