The Heroic Legend of Arslan
| hi i wanted to start watching arslan senki (2015)* recently but when i was about to start i had a bunch of anime come up with the same name arslan senki (1991) *not sure if these are the correct release years but if anyone knows if they are connected; i would be really grateful if they could tell me. as well as show me the story order of the ovas, specials, and onas and if its worth watching the 1991 one if theyre connected or should i just watch all of them, going along with 'air start' and 'air end' dates Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching. |

| They are just alternate versions, so you don't need to watch one to watch the other, although it'll probably help to watch both. |

| It's the first adaptation in the format of OVA's of an Light Novel that basically debuted Light Novelsas we know today. (The 2015 one actually adapts the Manga, but after some point they went to the novels) The OVA versions have a black Elam and a armor wielding Farangis (Even though she also uses cloth in the novels). |
| There are some slight differences but the basic story structure is the same (and personally I would say watching the OVA improves the remake experience just because of how much better the remake is) but it's not required to watch the OVA. |
