| I'm pretty sure that sea creature fight was filler, which was super annoying, but Carrot made an adorable murder face when they were about to kill it, so I'll let it slide. Is it just me or is the animation much better than usual? I think I read somewhere that there was a new animation director? Props to that guy if that's true. There is a definite improvement. Jinbei arrives next episode! Huzzah! |

| Slow episode, but nice to see No 1 and 2 of the Germa. Also nice to hear Sugiyama Noriaki as the voice of one of the Vinsmokes. So Luffy and the others are making their way to Whole Cake Island. Interesting to hear that it isn't the first time Pedro is there. Maybe we will hear about this later. The fight with these sea centipedes was nothing special but funny because of Carrot who wanted to fight so badly but Luffy didn't gave her a even chance :D Damn her face when she was about to attack looked scary :o In the meantime Big Mom absolutely freaking out and destroys everything which came in her way. I think it's the first time I hear the word croquembouche. I can't wait for the next episode and to finally see Jinbei again. It feels like forever since we saw him the last time. |

| I honestly don’t have much to say this episode so I’ll keep it in three pieces. Firstly, the warmongering Germa introduction was a good one. We saw a 2 year war ended in 4 hours, apathetically, and for the sake of money. One side saw them as demons who killed their wives, children, and destroyed their country. The other side saw them as angels as they chanted their name. Their effect in the world isn’t all bad, but their intentions certainly are. Their men are so loyal or even fanatical that, assuming it wasn’t a power of any kind, just saying ‘wall’ was enough for one to sacrifice themselves as a body shield. Pedro was cut off from explaining his experience here with what looked like a filler scene with some giant centipedes. I say this because we started to get some looped art work and it didn’t add much to the episode. What it did add however was Carrot's battlelust. She noted that she wanted to fight and even did a Zoro-esque smile when preparing too, scary. Maybe all minks are like this, something like they have an animal's sense of battle, but it adds another dimension to her character. She not only can fight, but wants to fight. Lastly, Big Mom was characterized to be somewhat of an addict when it comes to sweets. She has hunger pangs and goes into a frenzy if she doesn’t have the sweets she wants. She becomes self destructive, destroying her own kingdom. Sure, she is extorting sweets from other countries and threatening them and murdering and pillaging, but there is a side to it which may suggest it feels necessary for her. It’s not just gluttony, it’s something far worse; for herself and others. |
| It looks like Germa 66 is a ruthless mercenary group that only works for the highest bidder. I'm curious to see if there will be any kingdoms that they are affiliated with that the Straw Hats will end up passing through in the future. I'll have to say that it was as disappointing as it was funny to see everyone excitedly prepare to attack only for Luffy to steal the kill with just one attack TWICE lmao It looks like Big Mom's hunger pangs are a bigger danger to her own nation than anything else. Her head chef being picky as hell when it comes to making his food doesn't help with the matter at all either. |
