Meh, Hated this asspul victory. Shinso should not have lost and it's just perfect time this ancestral thing shows up. I think it's kinda weak. I also hate shows that have the protagonist essentially never lose and things always work perfectly. I hope this wont be the case for the show. Also the Don't worry scene was cringe worthy.

You may just like the upcoming episodes. I read the manga.

well damnnnn. Despite the fight between deku and shinso being 'boring', i still kinda liked it. Interested in the past members that had One for All. Also when All might was told he was there as well seemed like he knew his own power was going for good.

I'm actually more interested in Todoroki and his family squabble right now...

Enjoyed the episode a lot. 5/5

The ancestral calling of One for All was pretty awesome, it's great to gain a slightly better understanding of the quirk. I wonder what the original quirk was. Perhaps "you can pass your strength and quirk onto another person", and then it was just passed on repeatedly until it became such a massive amount of strength we had All Might. Well, that's my theory anyways.

EPIC EPIC!!
Glad that Midoriya managed to escape from his hypnosis, but let's not forget that anything of this would have happened if he listened to Ojiro's advice...
I feel so sad about Todoroki, he has such a shitty life, i really hope he can defeat his dumb father. But his power demonstration was beyond epic.

Deku, yesssss! PLUS ULTRA! I hope Shinso transfers to the hero course though.

Todoroki was amazing. But he needs to control himself...

I don't know who I want to win between those two... Honestly probably Shoto.. He's quickly becoming my favorite.

Every single episode is still so freaking amazing!

Seems like there's more to the vision that Midoriya saw during that fight, judging by what the nurse said to All Might after he left the room. Has the manga revealed the answer to this yet? Can someone quote me and put it in a spoiler tag if so?

Wow! This anime has the ability to pump you up and make you excited even for a short fight with not much real action! I thought it was so cool when Midoriya had the vision with the previous one for all heroes (btw why is All Might included already? Does that foreshadow his time coming to an end?) Then Todoroki has a heated *wink*wink* interaction with his dad and came out angry in his fight! I can't wait to see everyone else's fights next week and of course I'm looking forward to Midoriya vs. Todoroki!

PLUS ULTRA!

Shinso is a great character.. "You can't help with the thing you are looking for, right ?" Talk about cool line, He have a great personality ...

Again, Todoroki proved that he is the "cool shounen's supporting character" of this show..

I am waiting for some Uraraka's development in the next episode ...

Good job Midoriya! Thanks to that vision of previous One For All users, I think, he used his power to snap out of Shinso's brainwashing and got physical with him. He won with an impressive over-the-shoulder takedown move he used on Kacchan last season.

Still, after seeing people's positive reaction of Shinso's abilities, at least he won't give up in trying to get on the hero course in the future. Good luck to him. =)

For Todoroki, he was rather annoyed to see his father as he walked down the tunnel towards the arena. Endeavor's words only went to rile him up even more and his poor opponent, Handa, got the short end of the stick as Todoroki unleashed his mother's power at full blast. I will he honest, but the announcer's faces after seeing his attack were hilarious! XD

So, more battles to come next week, but I do worry about Uraraka, since she's up against Kacchan. Do your best girl! =3

The manga hasn't revealed the answer yet, but judging from the foreshadow:

im guessing that the answer would only be revealed after All Might's death, and he's still alive and jumping around in the manga.

Shinsou is the man, I'm still pissed about the whole ordeal and I had read it in the manga so long ago. That butthurt punk snitching to Deku in the first place was bs, Shinsou was just using his powers and did nothing wrong to the point that kid should have a vendetta against him. Shinsou was also right about them quitting the tournament being dumb because they feel they got ahead unfairly, life itself is unfair, and I don't see them quitting being heroes because they have quirks and other humans do not, every person lives taking advantage of what was given to them, not even all people can walk.

And then Deku gets saved by these passed souls in One for All, he got bailed out after screwing up in front of a superior opponent he was briefed on by some sour loser.

I don't even fully agree that Deku fully relates to him. Deku was someone without a quirk sure, and thus in that sense they both have struggled to reach their dream. However, Deku was not treated like a villain prospect and always treated like a shady individual. People treat Shinsou like a threat to society, but he still attempts to do good, and imo he's still the best character in Boku no Hero even to the current place in the manga.

The rainbow-colored calling of the ancient One for All users was pretty, but Shinsou really stole the ep for me. His backstory and resulting frustration hit me harder than they did when I read the manga, and I'm truly hoping we'll get to see more of him soon enough.

Now with that out of the way, I'm just here waiting for Uraraka vs Bakugou, which happens to be my favorite fight of the tournament.

Shinso isn't even superior. He has an OP quirk, but he is much weaker than everyone else in the Hero Course. I can't believe that you just invalidated Midoriya's efforts. Before he even got One For All, he had to train his body as much as possible. The fact that Shinsou could not win in a quirkless battle is telling. You make it sound like it was a stolen win, yet you don't take Shinso's physical training into consideration. Had Shinso trained himself in hand to hand combat, then it doesn't matter if Midoriya broke out of the brainwashing. Midoriya wasn't even using his quirk in the fight. Shinso got thrown out fair and square. If you're saying that it is BS for Midoriya to be saved by his quirk, then why do you want Shinso to win just using his quirk? Why do you disregard the fair fight in the end?

Also, just because Shinso was treated like a villain doesn't mean that he had it worse than Midoriya. They both had their problems. Midoriya simply said that he relates to Shinso's struggle in a general sense. He acknowledges that he is more blessed in that he had people support him. You seem to have kind of vendetta against Midoriya - even going so far as to invalidate all the bullying he has received in the past. Are you the type of person who tells others that "African kids have it worse" when they face some kind of conflict in life? Pain is not a competition. Both Midoriya and Shinso was ostracized, but in a different manner. Not one is worse than the other. They both have it bad. Stop invalidating one for the other. You're like saying that someone who is bullied deserves less than the one who is raped. Different problems. You don't make it a competition to see who has it worse. Jesus Christ.

I don't think you're angry because of the story writing. I think you're angry because you projected yourself onto Shinso, and felt personally attacked by Midoriya's win. You should seriously stop doing that. The fight was more fair than you thought, and the fight represented a lot of things - Midoriya's recklessness, and Shinso's laziness. Both had their own flaws. Midoriya needed to learn to control his emotions, and stop acting in the heat of the moment. Shinso needed to train himself physically instead of relying on his quirk (which is non-physical) all the time. You don't just spend your days telling the Hero Course students to go die, but don't put in any effort into training yourself.

It would be so amazing if Eraserhead takes on Shinso as an apprentice. It would just fit so well. Both have really amazing quirk that aren't good offensively. However, with physical/combat training and some support items, he would become a very formidable hero.

As Aziawa-sensei once said (summarized)..."You can't be a hero with just one trick".

To be clear, I was being hyperbolic when I said "pissed", but yes I would say I would feel more connected with Shinsou than Deku.

Shinsou is superior, the only reason Deku won was because of outside interference. Someone legit had to go up to Deku out of unreasonable hatred for Shinsou and reveal the secrets of his power. Even then, Deku was out played by Shinsou, and then the spirits within One for All had to come out to rescue him. Deku didn't use his quirk to save himself, an unknown part of his quirk activated to save him because of past souls, completely different.

As for physical training, the only reason Deku is so superior in that regard is because he has a physical quirk and All Might told him too. You act like Deku decided that all on his own, it makes perfect sense that someone with a mental quirk wouldn't focus on physical training so much.Deku is probably better in that regard than most of the people in his class.

I never invalidated anything, I said don't believe they're relatable. I don't think Deku knows anything about feeling you'd be better suited for bad and evil activities, and the psychology issues that brings, and how impressing it is that Shinsou overcome it. Later, not a spoiler, but a general plot theme, is that many villains started out just like Shinsou and feel like losers, or people who would fit the villain role, and they unlike Shinsou gave into it like losers, further to me showcasing the gem that is Shinsou.

Unless, you're implying that being bullied gives you grounds to "relate" with someone raped, or an average first world person can "relate" to the suffering of third worlders. Suffering is not a competition, I'm not even arguing which is worse, but there is a huge difference between two people suffering and two people "relating". I for sure don't hate Deku, or act like he wasn't bullied, I'm probably on the rarer fan of Deku side, there are many people out there that hate Deku just for not being some brazen confident macho superman. I think people often use the term relate rather incorrectly.

Another awesome episode!
Midoriya Izuku was almost stepped-out of bounds!
Izuku suddenly saw something creepy! maybe the descendants of the One for All power? 8 eyes!? There's something that they are hiding with this power of All Might!
Izuku finally snapped out of it using his 2 fingers to create a small explosion! Midoriya won nice! That was great!
Good thing in this show is there are many who admire Shinso!
Deku got brainwashed 2 more times! lolz!
The way Todoroki defeated Sero was way too overboard because he's too angry!!!!
5/5!

Ahhh, I've always known from the moment I saw Shinso that I was gonna like him. He didn't do much and just stayed silent the whole tournament and that's why I've got my eyes on him. He was interesting (and I really like his character design, lol). I feel for him :( I'm glad the audience cheered for him when he walked out of the arena! I was worried he'd exit frustrated at his loss. Thank you, Shinso's classmates and Pros! Hope we see more of him in the future!

I'm probably the one of the few who started tearing up after watching the contrast between Deku and Shinso with the latter's feelings mirroring what Deku felt before inheriting One for All. Watching Shinso shout out about how blessed Deku his for having his power with Deku unable to respond but understanding what Shinso was getting at is just so emotional. T.T
I loved the part where Shinso answered Deku's question for why he wanted to be a hero, "You can't help the things you long for" Shinso. The tears keep coming T.T

I was tearing up too! It was very emotional and heartwarming.

Wow. If this continues to be this good, I think BNHA might overtake Attack on Titan and Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul as anime of the season!!

Didn't expect to get two short but extremely sweet battles over and done with in just one episode. Here I was expecting Shinso to be as shady as everyone in-series presumed he was, when in actuality he is a little cinnamon roll.

"You can't help the things you long for."
Oh that hit me right in the heart.
What's even sweeter is that this boy has the power to do god knows what, but he just wants to be a hero and do good. ;-;
I hope he doesn't sink into the background for the rest of the series, because tbh I think he's one of the most interesting new characters.

Also loved the parallels between him and Deku.
Speaking of that, the whole One for All vision was pretty freaky...he saw a vision of the previous owners of OFA which is a sign he's more in sync with the ability. Does that mean their spirits kind of live on within the ability itself??

And why do I get the horrid feeling that All Might is going to die? -_-
I mean, it'd make sense. He's not the healthiest of guys, and he did seem desperate to find an heir for his Quirk. I just hope I'm wrong.

Ah, Todoroki was mad...but tape guy surprised me too with how fast he went in for the kill! No surprises with the outcome though.
That means we'll be getting Todoroki vs. Deku, and I'm almost 100% sure Deku will lose that one.
He ain't ready yet!!

Shinso's power is OP but once they figure him out it's pretty much done.

Honestly the fight was pretty boring as it was mentioned but it is only the first round so no big deal. Todoroki though.. I just want to see him happy ;_; hopefully at the end he changes and either accepts for who he is or maybe he'll become fully ice and somehow get rid of the fire part in him but that's just a guess ~

Todoroki vs Midoriya will be really interesting to watch, on paper it should be easily Todoroki but the way anime likes to make the main characters OP I wouldn't be surprised even if Midoriya wins..

Well, i dont know about that. Attack on titan started out strong, and from what i've heard and seen, this season will continue on like a hurricane blowing your minds. While Bnha started out ordinary, albeit better than season 1, it's not on the same level as attack on titan season 2 yet. However, this might be overturned when we get to the second part of bnha season, which is the arc after the sports festival. Thats when bnha truly starts to shine. Thats when most people (like me) started seeing bnha in a new light. Thats when it shows that it has great potentials and it has the ability to stand on equal footing as many mainstream manga. Thats when you realize bnha isn't made up of all black and white, hero and villain, good and evil. Theres much more that's yet to be seen, that makes you question morality, whats right and whats wrong, that makes you root for evil.

And damn it shinso ; w ; I just want to hug this boy... so sadd... he quickly become one of my fav ; w ; I hope he will get attention again in later chapters ; w ;

Also Todoroki ahh he is so OP and cool and aaaa love this guy so muchhh CAN'T WAIT FOR HIS MATCH WITH DEKU!!!

Also of course my angry baby Bakugo's "dunce face" is so funny lol

Pretty hyped for his match with Uraraka!

After this episode, I wonder who is stronger Todoroki or Bakugo? Too bad there is no Todoroki vs Bakugo match huh. It would be great imo

I'm very disappointed. The fight in the first half was cool, but it's hard to get into it when Deku suddenly becomes dumb as fuck. Especially when he's portrayed as a character to pays so much attention to quirks, strenths, and weaknesses as shown in the first season.

I thought Deku was just conveniently being stupid when he decided to answer his opponent because the other guy hadn't spell things out (again, extremely convenient). But it turns out things were indeed spelled out before the match, which makes his behavior completely retarded and devoid of any reason.

I have no idea why the author thought making him this stupid all of a sudden was a good idea.

He probably got provoked by how Shinso insult his friends and probably lose his cool right then and forgot Jiro warning not to answer Shinso

Of course, he was baited. But falling for it when minutes earlier 2 people openly refused to fight because of it, someone else outright prevented him from talking to his opponent, and on top of all that he had a face to face warning that spelled out what would happen if he answered the guy... in all honesty, that's stupid as fuck.

It's hard to put into words how facepalm worthy his behavior was. Seriously, that was probably worse than the typical behavior of dense harem protagonists. There was only a single way he could have lost the match and he was 200% aware of it. His only duty was to shut up. Yet, after 3 warnings he still managed to fuck up.

I don't care for the other dude, but quite frankly, Deku should have lost it. He totally deserved to lose.

Yaho~ Non-manga reader here.... (also weeab fujoshi trash)

I totally caved after last weeks episode and actually already looked up Shinso's quirk... I couldn't help myself, I'm horrible at waiting patiently for episode... but still... it's a really nice Quirk... I'd love it LOL. (I don't think I'd be as good with it as Shinso is though...)

ALSO OMG SHINSO I'M SO SORRY FOR SAYING YOU WERE DODGEY AF... YOU'RE ACTUALLY A LOVELY WONDERFUL ANGST CHILD AND I'M SO SORRY FOR DOUBTING YOU.

On another note... Omg thou. Kacchan's face when Izuku pulled that move.

This face shall be forever locked up in a safe place for my eyes. :') Honestly though, I realized instantly too, and then when it showed Kacchan's fACE I WAS LIKE YASS IZUKU YOU'VE USED THAT MOVE BEFORE.

Kacchan's probs realising his gay love for Izuku after that..

I totally ship em tho so yh... XD I'm just trash like that (Izuku goes with everyone tbf he's like Hinata Shouyou.. he just works well with nearly everyone..)

Anyway...

Shinso and Izuku are quite a like... and I like that... I'm hoping they interact more in the future, because I think I like Shinso. I also like the two of them together, they could be amazing friends personally...

Todoroki's angry face is scary man... I cannot bare to see him look so damn angry... he needs a hug and better parents...Please.

Damn tho... Is this him not holding back at all.. or is he still holding back a bit because obviously he can't do serious damage to his opponent or he gets disqualified... because if he's still holding back a bit I'm dead. OP af.

I'm done. I want to cry for him. Can I cry for him?

I'm glad Izuku noticed though, I was scared no one would... ;-; My poor baby Todoroki needs a hug and a better life.

Please help him Izuku XD

he was stupid for getting emotional and repply him..but i dont think it was PIS since he is pretty emotional all the time so its not like he suddenly got stupid because the plot demanded it. The entire fight was absolutely just a plot point to introduce a OFA concept but it did also fit into him being a very emotional guy. He's still having trouble with the whole "smile like All Might" thing because his emotions always get the best of him. He´s a very smart guy but ive seen a lot of smart people screwing up themself for simple things as well..

IGHKDASBVKSUFH HELLO. XD I'd totally post this on Tumblr... if I knew how to work Tumblr...I only ever knew how to find stuff, not post. But.. I quit it in January to avoid spoilers for a game , the English version is out until September so I had to quit most stuff to avoid it.

BUT YAS WE'RE TRASH TOGETHER

That was way too close for Midoriya... He should have listened to his classmate. Also... Shinsou doesn't seem quite as bad a guy as he looked like before. Honestly I can imagine he either gets moved to the hero course (all in all he already delivered a better performance than some of them) or gets picked up by an agency and gets enough support from them to achieve his goal. He definitely left an impression though.

The second "fight" was insane though. Todoroki went way over with it xD Poor Sero. First he gets insulted by the commentator and then he gets utterly destroyed in the match :D
