There isn't going to be a replacement for this site anytime soon lmao. It's the closest akashic records for any weeb related things you're going to get on the net; no other site have managed to do the same.

It sucks for the inconvenience but I guess I'll just have to use effort again to find content from individual sites and forums like usual.

i wonder which country fight piracy the most... you know, the country who arrest most of piracy site maker, jailed them for life then give them maximum fine when even massacre your neighbour with gun give you less sentence...

The UK is among the worst
http://a2knetwork.org/watchlist
http://a2knetwork.org/reports2012/uk

That's kinda old though and it appears to be pro-copyright so it doesn't directly answer that.

Most arrests is probably the US but I cant find data on that.

yeah, I honestly think we've just witnessed the end of the second anime golden age
seriously, only broke students and NEETs watch cartoons, what do they think they'll accomplish with this? They've just killed the diffusion of an international culture.

bloody laws, I thought nyaa was untouchable too
nyaa should become private too

I want to keep watching anime at least until I die. I'm only 20 years old, it's still long journey.
where can I get all the OVA, old series, uncensored, high quality fansub batches, anime music and most of sukebei content? I absolutely loathed corporate crook like crunchyroll with their shitty low quality sub monopoly over the market.
I hate all these crooked old man who shut down any kind of thing that people enjoy, and anime is such a niche hobby, maybe it's because it's not niche anymore?
so many things lost, I just wanna kill myself now for real.
2B or not 2B?

This is a stupid move, this will not affect piracy on airing anime whatsoever

nyaa was just a collection of releases from fansub groups, we can always just go to their websites for magnet links and even XDCC if necessary

The only real loss are the old stuff that will NEVER get licensed (ie you cant even watch them on crunchyroll if you paid for it) and the sukebei contents

Damn, can't use BakaBT (yet, blocked cuz im a leecher xD) and nyaaa is down. There goes my easy way of getting my chinese cartoon. Guess I'll use tokyotosho or shanaproject by I doubt the old releases are seeded

there's still erogedownload and anime-sharing for hentai gaymu, mofumoe still has an archive of everything before 2015 that was on fuwanovel (im not sure if they are seeded though)
The problem with erogedownload and anime-sharing is that they use premium link which means shitty connection so it's impossible to download from them literally impossible.

anime-sharing has a torrent section though

I might as well put on tinfoil hat on my head from now on... I feel the end of era; era of golden times, where you could freely watch any anime you wanted without obstructions, listening to music that would be plainly impossible otherwise if not for nyaa, but oh well , every good thing has it's end. I will miss mostly Sukebei , even if there are sites like erogedownload and hongfire , Sukebei had a lot of uncensored stuff that getting it from anywhere else would be very hard if not impossible.

KA has the whole show on 720p but definately not the quality you want. I also know that it is one of the few exceptions but still, not all of them are difficult to find.

At the end of the day, beggars can't be choosers; unless the anime is unlicensed. In that case, I understand your dilemma.

I wouldn't mind paying up to 30 buck /euro monthly if it had good quality translations, and most shows, but let's be real crunchyroll sucks , it has bad translations (be it meme or liberal translation that aren't making any sense ) ,and restricted content for countries that are not USA, so yeah it's not that I am a dick that doesn't support authors, I want to , I truly do, but with anime (and manga for that matter) industry over seas in it's current state, I cannot. Yeah beggars can't be choosers , but if it comes to me I would prefer death by starvation than eating rotten bread for the rest of my life.

This really won't change much. Another site with a similar or even the same interface will pop up in a few months.

When will they learn that trying to stop piracy through the net is just an exercise in futility.

Yep, good job earth even though there will be for example teenagers that watch anime and they can't for a job until they're older? Or well people that even get decent jobs can't afford stuff.

Just saying bro.

I started working with 13. It's just a weak excuse from your side. Age doesn't matter. Heck, I started going for a walk with my neighbors dogs for 10€, delivered newspapers and got money from my parents. That's enough (or would've been in my case) to pay for your anime with 13.

You could download the streams for that matter, illegal sites support that function, if not get an addon for your browser that rips videos for you :3

I'm not finding anything about new regulations in the EU that should affect nyaa, just the UK's Digital Economy Bill. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't that bill only affect the UK? And nyaa was in sweden so....

From my understanding it wasn't new regulations, but rather a court ruling on a copyright-related case. Someone posted links earlier in the thread (somewhere on page 1). I think it basically says "if you share/link to it and know that doing so is illegal, you're screwed", but I can't read legalese so I don't get the specifics.

What people are failing to realize is most of bitching is related to the fact that nyaa was one of the very few public sources you could acquire old pre-streaming era shows which is a huge deal. That content is gone now. Gone. A huge chunk of this very websites database are going to be extremely challenging if not impossible to find/watch if desired. That is kind of a big deal.

It was also one of the only, if not the only, one stop hub for not only anime but raws, games, live action, music, literature, eroge. And on the anime front the OVAs, movies, and specials which very rarely get streamed.

The death of nyaa is realistically a huge loss to the community who aren't, for lack of better terms, casuals.

I'm unemployed, and I buy all my Anime on DVD, but the stuff I download is unlicensed stuff that you can't get. Having a job wouldn't change that.

Nyaa was a great source that I used regularly. I'm just glad I still have a working BakaBT account.

For anime most people can just go to HS home site, for the 18+ stuff, well now you're screwed.

TokyoToshokan was down yesterday when I tried but seems to be up today and slow as hell and crashing constantly. Gonna need to find an alternate site.
