I had an eyegasm, the cliff-hanger was just cruel though. The design for the NZ-666 was just great.
Well Chinese fans working on Gundam Mods for Homeworld made a NZ-666 model in 3D. Look at the movie quality work here:
bla bla blaThe endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.
On MAL, everyone who has used the lame rating system becomes a critic and an intellectual by default, haven't you heard?

I thought it was pretty boring and majorly overrated.
>Guilty Crown(Worst anime of this decade award)
Mecha fans are really split like this, if he thinks it's boring then that's fine. I think GC, TTLG and 00 are awful shows to but I know they aren't targeted at me so I just let them be.

Omg my eyes exploded!
My ears too for that matter.
There is something very VERY rewarding and satisfying about watching this new and high-budget animation after sitting through the old stuff for about a month non-stop.
My vision was already adjusting to the 80s animation. All of these shiny things caught me off guard.
THAT PRODUCTION -- MY EYES ARE BLEEDING.
Oh, I liked reading your comments on the Zeta discussion board, saw you there went I went to post.
But LOL I pretty much had the same reaction you did to this.
Really though, superb visuals and sound. I didn't expect anything less.
Intriguing start. No extremely annoying people yet so far which is an A++++.
I'm so glad I didn't watch this in '10 because it would have been such a pain waiting so long for the next ep.

Nice. I wasn't lost while watching it and had no particular problem making sense of what was going on and who were the different factions at play. I'm also glad that this OVA series chooses to focus on Mineva Zabi, since her position as well as the glimpse of her personality that we managed to get this episode do seem to show a lot of promise. I'm mostly okay with Banagher, who doesn't look like he's gonna be nearly as troublesome as Amuro, Kamille or Judeau were in their time and has that hint of sensitivity that I'm really digging with my male protagonists.
On a technical level the episode was nearly flawless; I can't praise the staff enough for their superb work on the mecha animation, and the soundtrack really is Sawano at his best. It's too early to say anything else about how the story will go as we're still in the introductory phase, but I have to say I'm pretty excited for what's to come. Wonder what that Laplace box is though: probably something that has to do with Newtype awakening or something.
SoFarGone said:That was pretty ridiculous indeed. But I think that this could, to a certain extent, be explained by the fact that he's been on his own for the longest time and may find solace in the idea that his presence is needed somewhere. Kind of gives him some sense of belonging that he may have lacked as a teenager who grew up without his parents. Of course, this reasoning is delusional as can be but hey, he's a kid after all.
I thought Banagher was annoying. He just met a girl and he suddenly now wants her to need him. I did enjoy the episode though.

there is a limit to the suspension of disbelief
And it's the fan that did it. Not the smoking porn reading rubik cube genius rape ape with a magic boat.

That could be helped a bit by some Newtype "connection" too? (at least, that is the only thing who came to my mind before the sense of usefulness)
For the Laplace box, since it predates the start of Deikun's belief, I am expecting something more about the colonization programm.
