Like the title says, does anyone here enjoy Trance music? I'm not talking about "Trance 2.0" which takes cues from other genres like House and Electro. I'm talking about straight up Trance music like early Anjunabeats, Armin van Buuren, and Future Sound of Egypt. If you have no idea what I'm on about, take a gander at the tracks below. If you do like Trance music: Are you sad that Trance has evolved into what it is today? What is your favorite Trance song? Do you think Trance will make a comeback eventually?

I enjoy some trance music. I won't claim to be an expert in the genre as I'm more into metal music than other genres, but, I do enjoy trance. I'm also quite picky when it comes to the genre. The only trance artist whose entire discography I actually enjoy is Illitheas. But some other artists who have released a couple of songs or remixes that I enjoy include Armin van Buuren, Chicane, Photographer, Daniel Kandi, Suncatcher, Dash Berlin, and Omnia.

Otherwise, I've mostly listened to trance metal bands/artists like Blood Stain Child, Fail Emotions, Fatal FE, and Amor Aeternus. Cyber metal tends to have trance elements though it is mostly taken from the synthwave and industrial influenced side of the genre.

Daniel Kandi and Suncatcher - yes! I love them. I'm the opposite of you, I mainly listen to straight up Trance but enjoy some types of metal like the band Denkare. : - ) I should check out those bands you mentioned. They sound like they'd be interesting.

Awesome! Regarding the cyber metal artists I mentioned (if you are interested) check out Mechina and Neurotech. The Enigma TNG is also really good. Also feel free to recommend me some trance songs anytime. I'm always open to new stuff.

I did when I was younger at least. Still don't mind it but I don't really get around to listening to it too much anymore

I don't really listen to a lot of trance anymore, but I'll always like the classic stuff. This is probably the first trance track that I ever heard, and it's pretty much defined my taste in terms of that genre. I wasn't even born when it came out, but it's the first "trance" track that I heard when I got into electronic music, and it's probably one of my favourites still.

Trance will never be the same. These days there are way too many breakdowns, build-ups that last 10 minutes, and other elements that I think ruins the "trance" aspect. I think this is mostly due to trance entering the mainstream somewhere in the late 90s-early 00s, which meant that it had to become more palatable. I love the continuous rhythm of trance, and how new layers are introduced, and how it just seems to go on forever. It's hypnotic and immersive. Modern trance isn't.

Stuff like this happens to most genres at some point, and because I was never that into trance it doesn't really faze me. Not all modern trance is bad though, but it's not good enough for me to want to listen to it. That psy stuff is kinda interesting, though. Acid is good. If modern trance uses tb-303s they get plus points.

Sweet! I plan to check them out this weekend. As for Trance, anything on the Tri-State album by Above & Beyond is a sure hit! : P

That's how I feel. I grew up with Trance music and the stuff people are putting out now sounds like Transformer noises to me. I mean like, Iian Bluetone & Maor Levi's track Shake the Air is pretty nice but it's more like some kind of electro - definitely not Trance and I don't know why it was released on Anjunabeats. (Sadly, Anjunabeats hasn't been releasing old style Trance for awhile now though... I miss Anjunabeats volume one!!!)

You speak of pystrance, I take it you know Astral Projection? I love them.

I love your taste in Trance! Meet Me in Montauk is a classic! Amsterdam, As The Rush Comes, Sea Tides, In and Out of Love, Traffic, Voyage... all artists and songs I'm very familiar with. <3 Do you know Nitrous Oxide? And what kind of edm do you listen to now? I find that I like stuff on SuicideSheep's channel, whatever that style of music is called. And psychill and j-core are also really nice.

Haven't dug deep into trance, but it's certainly far from the worst music I've heard. And I do quite enjoy the psy- variety of it.

I like it, but I'm now more into traditional or deep house. Still better than dubstep though haha.

Not really into it, but this one from Johaness Gilther has been my favorite in the genre. Got also featured in the "Tokyo Night View" video.

What are you asking exactly?
What emotion is rap trying to invoke? Or rock music? There's a lot of variety in Trance. You can't say that a whole genre is trying to invoke one particular feeling.
There is uplifing trance, that is, well... uplifting.
There's psytrance/GOA which is more like acid trip/hypnotic state.
etc.

It's been a long time since I've listened to trance. My favorite trance song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC5ca6Hsb2Q and maybe some dj micro - inside of me.
Love that techno evolved into all the sub genres we have today. Though if I were being honest, if you played me a song I couldn't tell you which it belonged to...
