Of course you can caculate the amount of hours and minutes it takes but sometimes we take breaks or increase the speed. For me it takes around 6.5 hours. Yes I increase the speed.

depends if I have the show on DVD or not
if I have it on DVD I can watch the whole show almost all in one go but if I watch it on my laptop it'll take a lot longer

Mm, looking at my most recent example, it took me 5 days to complete a 26 episode series without speed ups and watching other non-seasonal anime alongside of it, completely focused on that singular series.

I couldn't do speed ups, and I don't ever want to do speed ups. To marathon something I'd have to want to do so to begin with, which for me is more of a natural occurrence of "Wow, I really fuckin' like this, I don't want to stop watching it" instead of being anything I ever plan. I kind of prefer to do a more deliberate pace involving watching one or two things at a time over the course of a few days the bulk of the time.

Without increasing the speed but not taking any breaks (AKA a straight-up marathon), it takes me around 10.4 hours to get through a 26 episode series that I really like, assuming each episode is about 24 minutes long.

Though truth be told that very few series have actually compelled me to watch all of it straight through. Expanding the question, what shows have you seen that have utterly driven you to watch it straight through in one sitting?

If it was airing, it would take me 26 weeks.
If it was done but I didn't focus on it, it would take me around 2 months.
If it was done and I did focus on it, it would take me around 4 days.
If It was done and I decided to completely binge it, it would take me about 12 hours.

And why speed up anime? It seems impractical and unentertaining.

Why on earth would you increase the speed? And it would probably take me around 3-10 days finish it. It depends on how much i enjoy it and how busy i am. Back when i was super into anime i would probably finish it in a day.

the answer for all of your questions is to make progress with my downloads. A normal speed episodes is way too slow for mw anyway, Cant stand the slowness.

If I was to answer ur question seriously it would be everything. Taking breaks is a pain.

Well, I typically watch 2-4 episodes a day.

So, 1-2 weeks or so. Depends on my investment though as well if I'm bored throughout that time. Depending on my investment/interest/curiosity about the plot, I might watch more episodes.

Also if I'm just really bored one day and don't really feel like much else, I might watch a episode or two (or more). I usually only watch when I'm eating, which is usually twice a day. So, that's why I say that since I wouldn't be eating in that case. Just watching because I'm bored.

Then, I guess why it's no wonder that people ask stupid questions when they don't pay attention and speed up the thing they watch.

As for me, it can take me a whole week to a month or more depending on how much time I have, since I only 1-3 episodes a day or not even an episode a day.

What wrong with watching 3.5x speed anime to get results? Some people in this world can't watch slow 24 minute episodes. It's only logical to do this if you dont have all the time in the world but still want to get results.

That is the point.

If you don't have time to watch an anime with proper time you shouldn't. It is not race or must. You can do other things.

But if you are really watching it with 3.5x speed oh boi that is sad.

regardless of the numbers of episodes, I used to do it in two days. Most of the time I would start in the afternoon of one day, go to sleep a bit late and finish the next morning.
And I don't speed it up, that would just defeat the purpose of watching anime to me.

It differs from case to case. Depending on how much free time I have and how much I want to see the conclusion.

Binged the second season of Higurashi in one day(it was only 24 episodes though), while I take my time with Monogatari Series Second Season and just watch arc per arc.

And I usually take it even slower with series like School Rumble which are mostly episodic or where the overall plot is progressing slowly. Need about a month to finish them.

I'm not someone who increases the speed, it would just ruin the atmosphere and enjoyment of the anime for me. Don't get people who do that.

It depends on how interesting the show is, and on how busy I am in general. Some seasons have taken me a few hours, while others a few months to complete. On average, I'd say it takes me about 5 days though.

Well I guess so. Since I watch anime just for fun it don't want to finish it early. Anyways if you like that way it is fine go for it.

As for your orginal question I finished Code Geass in 3 days I guess so it depends on how much I like the show.

It depends on many factors.
Main:
- If I have a time
- How interesting is that series

So, from 1 day to 1 month.
Btw. I'm usually watching about ~15 seasonal series too.
PS. Watching with increased speed is just as stupid as it sounds.

Well, it quite depends on how I like the anime.
If it's really good then maybe within 7-10 days since I usually do 3-4 episodes per day of the same anime.
If I'm quite busy and not really that invested into that anime, then about a month. :v

A series that I really like - 26 weeks
A series that is so so - 2 months
A series that I want to finish quickly just because I'm curious about it - 1 month

It's because I watch a bunch of different series in the same time period, like 15 or 20,
the majority of them I watch weekly.

If you need to speed up anime just to get enjoyment out of it and you haven't done it to shows outside anime, then you should concentrate on the non-anime ones. The non anime ones that you don't speed up implies you are able to enjoy the show at its intended pace/speed.

Of course, if you tried speeding up non-anime shows and you still didn't get enjoyment, that's understandable on what you're doing with anime as it seems you get more enjoyment from this medium.
