Possibly to change character's main picture if another picture looks more correct?

Probably give an edit to a mod but there are fixed rules on which these pictures are decided.

There is no guarantee that the best picture will get the most votes, and people will certainly try to get as many votes for their own contribution as they can. So instead, simply submit the picture with our current system and hope for the best.

I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.
