I'm sure Madhouse is bad enough.

Also, probably Trigger.

Kyo Ani is a studio that adapts the source material faithfully

What? Where were you for Chuu2Koi? Musaigen no Phantom World? Amagi Brilliant Park? Heck, even Lucky Star and Haruhi? And several other "adaptations" they've done weren't actual adaptations but merely series loosely based on the setting of the alleged source material (Free!, FMP: fumoffu, most of the films they've done)

KyoAni is a studio that is famous for deliberately screwing about with the source material. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah, you're right.
If one read the source material first [Amagi, Chunibyou, K-ON!], one might know that KyoAni is tampering with the source.
Though, if i am being honest, that might be necessary to fill in the 12 episode count, because the source material might be too short for 12 episode anime.

I have seen all KyoAni shows and I think my least favorite would be Munto.
Help the industry and buy Blu-rays and DVD's.

I've only seen around 5 or so KyoAni shows at the moment, but my two joint-lowest scorers were Clannad and Nichijou. 3/10 both from me.
It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether!

Air was pretty eh. I've skipped a lot of their mediocre looking recent anime (KnK, Phantom Boobs, Amagi, ect), tho I plan to jump back on the horse with the Dragon one.

Air. It sucks. Next is Munto TV, then Haruhi S2.

Musaigen no Phantom World. By far. .

As much as I didn't care for Nichijou, I am sure it was just because I couldn't stop myself from comparing it to Azumanga which is a masterpiece to me and Nichijou can just fuck off with how it won my friends over and how they always reference it jesus fuck. They are annoying sometimes. *continues to cosplay Osaka because Osaka is better than any of those bitches* Honestly, aside from Haruhi, Kyoani was always kinda average to me.

Phantom Sales might have been weak and Kobayashi mediocre but man, nothing they make will ever top Munto in terms of how low this studio can go.

Clannad, I was bored out of my mind. Its one of those anime that has a few funny moments but the rest is boring. Their best anime I watched was their first tv anime and nichijou.

Taking Lucky Star aside, the worst show at least in my opinion when it comes to Kyoto would be Hibike Euphonium. Why? because not only the show failed to make me grasp the drama aspect as well with the situation or conflict, it also almost killed my entire liking for Kyoto Animation for those reasons, and then I went on a tangent about the show for months without explaining well or giving justification and then acted completely edgy about it. I then settled down and explained why I didn't liked it... but, yeah I dislike the show but S2 was pretty okay.

Second would be Air but it didn't actually killed my liking for Kyoto, but it did turned into one of my most hated anime ever for everything except for the music.

Chuunibyou.. especially ss2 if you want plot to be motionless and see how to interrupt kissing scene for 5-6 times with some stupid reasons then watch it!
(Btw. Ss1 is better because that drama they've thrown in last 3-4 eps, not the heroine)

Although I have a great deal of respect for them as a studio, the majority of the content Kyoani produces is fairly average and often boring. The current worst that I've watched was Amagi, though I'm pretty confident that they have worse ones I won't watch within the foreseeable future.

Yikes. I was planning on watching the Munto TV series. I didn't even notice it was Kyoani.

What's so terrible about it?

This is the correct answer. Those character face designs alone make them the worst.

Musaigen no Phantom World is among the most boring things ever created. It had 3 or 4 great episodes and the rest was just KyoAni's cliches on autopilot. Kyoukai no Kanata almost tied it, KyoAni has a natural talent for making stale shows that involve some of the most fascinating supernatural ideas.

KyoAni as a whole is horrible, they have few good anime.

Their best anime so far, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, a sequel to Gonzo's FMP. It was way better than the first season, a moe studio made a better action than an action studio, lol.

Some ok anime by them are Hyouka and Kyoukai No Kannata.
Everything else is pretty bad or insultingly generic.

The plot was strange and convoluted, the animation was bad [And it was made at 2009], and the character is unoriginal in my opinion.
I watched munto for only 2 episodes and immediately dropped it. If people said that this was how low KyoAni can go, i believe them.
Thankfully, it's an original project, so not that many people knew how bad it was.

I'd say Phantom World is their worst anime to date. Beyond the Boundary (Kyoukai no Kanata) was.......ok and enjoyable to watch...for me, at least.

hahaha, you gotta be kidding, KyoAni is famous for NOT following the source material on most of the stuff they adapt, or add several anime original scenes and elements

not that i hate it, i love it, but people just thinks it's just a tipical shounen when it's far more than that, so people that dislikes cory in the house don't know culture.

By a good margin haven't seen all their shows, but I generally hear Phantom World thrown around as their worst.

As for my least favorite, the answer absolutely nobody but the moron that is me would say is Clannad. It seems like exactly my sort of show, but for whatever reason it never fully clicked with me and the main parts I did like were undone by the ending. Couple that with the rapturous praise it gets that only pushes me further away from it and it's just my least favorite show I've seen of theirs.
You have shit taste, and then I have taste so shit it makes your taste look good

Easy, Lucky☆Star. Wanking your weebpeen over all the references you get ≠ laughing at "good" comedy.

Of the ones I watched...

1. Phantom World - It was just bland and forgettable. In fact, so forgettable that I watched the whole series and I can’t even really remember what it was about. I think I vaguely remember the protagonist going around and capturing or exercising phantoms or something. I seriously can’t remember, but I do know I watched the whole series.

2. Haruhi Suzumiya 2nd Season - Two words...Endless Eight. Nothing says exhilarating like watch basically the same God damn episode eight fucking times with slight variations. To this day, I think it’s the first and only Kyoto Ani anime I dropped like a rock. The only saving grace it had was at least the characters in the Haruhi universe are likable. Even that couldn’t save this trash heap.

3. Tamako Market - I didn’t think this was that bad...the ONE thing that made me hate this show was that God damn talking parakeet or whatever the fuck it was. It has to be one of the most annoyingly unnecessary characters in anime history. Other than that it was a decent slice of life show.

I have a feeling if I actually watched Munto, that would be on here. I’ve seen enough bad reviews to know well enough to not touch that anime even with a 10 foot pole.

The Munto TV series is, for me, their only outright failure. The OVAs worked, in an odd way, invoking a dream-like feeling, but you can't serialise a dream over a whole season.

Old thread but the weakest show they've had was for sure Violet Evergarden even Musaigen was arguably better than it. I guess I was expecting a lot from VE than just another melodramatic show (there were good eps but it most of the show didn't really stand out). Beautiful PV but the show couldn't back it up. I still don't have the motivation to finish the last 2 episodes

Probably Violet Evergarden for me. The story was nothing but cliches for the first 5 episodes, then it was good for 5 episodes (which are the parts adapted from the light novel) and then it went back to boring. Also it's a bit too pretty in my opinion, but that might just be me. To everyone who liked Violet Evergarden, I urge you to read the original, you're missing out on something truly special.

All the Clannad responses here almost hurts as much as After Story

For real though, I couldn't get into Lucky Star myself and season 2 of Haruhi was offensive at times. Also, as much as I love K-On, season 2 (still by no means bad) really dragged for me.

First of all, really sorry if this thread have been made back then, but i just had the urge to make this one.

I really love Kyoto Animation. But sometimes, perhaps their creation are not what my taste is.
My pick for KyoAni's worst anime, in my opinion, is Kyoukai no Kanata and Musaigen no Phantom World.
Both are their attempt at entering the action-anime genre and flopped hard in my opinion.

Let me know your pick! And if possible, give me your opinion and reason why that anime is the worst.

You can’t name a good KyoAni anime because it’s doent exist

Wow, didn't know this was bumped in december, when i was not logged in, but there are some interesting replies here.

Anyways, ppl have been saying that Violet Evergarden is bad and not faithful to the source material. IMO, if it stays faithful to the material, there wouldn't be enough material to adapt for a 12 episode anime. This happens to Chuunibyo, since they adapt a single book to a full-fledged single season, and thus would require a major tweak in plot and character so they can make 12 episode out of it.

Also, to those who says that KyoAni never makes good anime, this thread is for those who loves KyoAni and acknowledges them, not to haters who only say things without any argument whatsoever.

Just my opinion though.

And every special that is related and

this shit here.

At least from everything I watched from KyoAni those were definitely the worst.

Seems somekind of ass resurrected the thread but considering it was 1.5 years ago it still the same.

Musaigen no Phantom world was their biggest failure.
It's bland as fuck, not memorable, nonsense, boring, literally fanservice fest.

Not wrong though.
Some people hated KyoAni because they makes this flashy anime but you know they're making good stuff to hint lots of hater despite having good reviews and scores in "MAL".

That said i hated Musaigen no Phantom world, it's definitely a crap and is their worst anime as a full aired TV shows.
