THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Nice end..don't know with you guys but i'm pretty much satisfied with this end..nice series Adachi-sensei Wait no kiss? that won't do XD ![]() |
The ending is very ...subtle. I don't know, but I think this is the first romantic comedy that I saw that ended with the words "hate" in it. :D (not even Ranma or Urusei Yatsura comes to mind). ![]() Modified by dreamingsamurai, Feb 17, 2010 4:19 AM |

Also got me that they used the baseball metaphor for the first time in this chapter. I'ma read some other Adachi at some point soon, now... ![]() |
wow wtf, what a wacky end, they didn't go to the grave of wakaba and tell her "we did it" or some shit like that, i did like the akane's part with akaishi but that aoba part was just unfinished i should say. lets hope the tv series get an ova or something alone the line to bring us some lights ![]() |
As I missed the news that this manga is ending I was rather shocked that Cross Game ended so sunddenly. What about the Koshien? How does it continue with Koh and Aoba? well. ... many open questions. I am looking forward to the next manga of Adachi-sensei ![]() |
Laevantein said: I hope you can stand the other Adachi's manga end..i think this one is better than Rough or H2's end I agree about H2's end as I wasn't happy with that one. However, I thought the ending for Rough was quite well done. I also liked the end to this one. This is now one of my favorites. I even did a review of it, so everyone should go read it. ^_^ http://myanimelist.net/manga/1183/Cross_Game ![]() |
I don't really know what I think. It felt so... sudden. ![]() |
This was a satisfying ending, all the buildup until their greatest victory, I was pretty excited until that final moment with both of them holding hands out of "hate" (lol). Yay for Akaishi getting close to Akane, he deserved it :) I was amazed how the anime is following the manga, they did an awesome job ! Now I wonder when will Adachi start a new series to follow. ![]() |
I don't like the end, because is the end of the manga... Many open questions. I love this manga (i am 25 years old). I never find a story so interesting, emotionally, funny, heart rending and so much more... I will read and watch session 4. What is with Azuma, he loves aoba, too? He asked Kou whether he had any problems, if he would go out with Aoba - and kou said no...so is it no fair... And wakaba said in the past to Aoba, dont take Kou from me away... so is it no fairm, too... PLZ PLZ PLZ continue, keep up the manga I am crying. I don't have anything to watch on Mondy evening... *weep* ![]() |

Overall I was satisfy with this ending, but I was rooting for Akane+Koh and Aoba+Azuma. Akashi and Akane make a great couple too, he totally deserve it. I just feel bad for Azuma, i was hoping he end up with Aoba. now Q&A is left to fill my monthly dosage of Adachi manga. ![]() |
this is adachi's style his highlight ending always conclude with baseball(or sport) and leave a very subtle romantic ending. I'm used to this style already though I too wish to see a little more of those two characters perhaps a kiss...or a fast forwarded future marriage ![]() |
I rather liked the ending when it came to Aoba and Koh. It seems like everyone, aside from them, knew they were meant to be together. That's why I think Akane and Azuma weren't that surprised with the outcome. However, I was hoping it'd end with the first pitch at Koshien (since that was Wakaba's dream). =/ Still, a great manga tho. ![]() |
The first volume from Viz is available for preorder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1421537583/ It looks like they combined three of the Japanese volumes into one (based on the page count given). ![]() |

I was hoping that He would end up with Akane.. but i still liked the ending. ![]() |
A satisfying ending. The weakest one among Adachi's top 3 (H2, Touch and Cross Game). Still pretty enjoyable and good overall. ![]() Kagami_Hiiragi said: Idc if you think its weird, I have a life and friends and an income of money. |

Much like the ending with Touch I felt this one was satisfying enough, everything that needed a resolution got one. As I whole I still think I prefer the anime, although the manga had almost a different charm to it. Aside from the fantastic characters, I really loved the artwork and how clean it was. ![]() |
So "hate" can also be a way to show affection. :) Overall a great read. I found the ending of the romance more satisfying compared to Touch and Rough. But I do wonder what their goals for the future are, after the Koshien. They were in their third year, weren't they? Why didn't Aoba want to pursue a professional career by herself? Did I miss the point or was it never mentioned? She more or less took the place of being a support-trainer for the baseball team, but what does she aim for in the future? I wish Adachi would give more conclusive answers to these questions. But the overall journey and the building of the relationships between the characters, the supporting characters and rivals in Cross Game weren't as good as in Touch. Compared to Touch (257 Chapters), the story in Cross Game (160 Chapters) progressed way faster. A bit too fast for my taste, I would have liked to see more content in Cross Game. Guess I will watch the Cross Game anime adaption next and then give H2 a read. ![]() |
I've watched the anime, but man the experience doesn't change much; I still like it the way how I watched it back then, with a little exception that I could appreciate some details that I didn't get while watching them. Really like that little monologue coming from Aoba at the end. Really like the love and hate relationship of the two MCs. Really like everything that this manga could offer <3 9/10 ![]() Modified by Hackser_, Jan 5, 2020 8:40 PM 😴 💤 🛏️ |
