Not fluently. I can read a very small amount, but not enough to understand much more than item menus and status screens.

Not at all, with the exception of a few words. I don't really care for learning it either.

I can't speak it (at least, I wouldn't be comfortable doing so), but I can understand a surprising amount of spoken Japanese that I've picked up mainly from anime and the like.

I can't but I wish I could.

Watching a lot of anime has definitely improved my ability to understand it though. I still need subtitles when I watch them but sometimes when I just play anime in the background while I do something else or when I play drama CDs, I can now pick up a lot of words that I understand and through that I can get the gist of the general conversation. It's not too impressive but it's something at least. xD

Can't speak it well, but because of anime and all of my Japanese friends, I've picked up on phrases and words and such. Where I live, there's a lot of local Japanese anyways and they teach it in high school so I think everyone knows a little bit of it.

I ended up taking Korean classes instead in college tho, go figure LOL

I can speak everything required for everyday conversation and school, seeing as I'm attending Uni here. My pronunciation is not the best because I have a strong Chinese accent in my speech.

少しならできるけど

I can't read/write kanji worth crap but other than that the most challenging part about Japanese, to me, is how simple and vague it tends to be compared to other languages I speak. It's fun though, I love speaking it and hearing the sound of it.

To a lesser extent, yes. I can talk for everyday conversations, although I never use the polite manner of speaking.

i probably know enough to not embarrass myself too much or inadvertently insult people.
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

Yes, Osaka is nice.. happy left the United States for it in fact.
If was not living in Osaka, might have been in Hyogo close to family.
Happy i picked Osaka however, have good friends, job I like, nice city and a fiance i love.
Back in the United States just had very few friends, no real family but my Older half sister, I hated the town, my job is the city was fun helping people and did not really have no love life really.

I'm sorry, I don't tell people the ward i live in unless they are close friends of mine sorry.
I will give you a hint, Namba parks is not to far, short train ride.

Have been to kyoto nice number of times, where in Kyoto you plan?
Can tell you some really nice places to visit there.
Same as Osaka in fact, can tell you really good tourist spots, even restaurants.
If going from Osaka to Kyoto there is some nice stops in Hyogo to check out as well.

I've been studying for over a year now but it's hard to self-study, I'll want to be at advanced level one day though. I can write hiragana, katakana, some kanji, I know basic grammar, simple phrases and idk how many words. I could introduce myself in Japanese and find my way around in Japan somehow even without using English. I understand quite a few sentences when watching anime.

the hell is weeb pretending to be japanese, that sounds pathetic.

I can speak japanese a little. I learned a little bit of kanji and I completely skilled at kanas when I was 12 because I used to play with JPop lyrics (mostly BoA) and change it into Romaji.

When I went out with my Japanese ex back in 2011, since his english was more horrible than mine, I tried to understand him using translator.
And also I watch anime a lot (I hate dubs) so yeah...

i learned japanese for two semesters but once i had the required number of extra subjects, i quit.
learning a relatively hard language just for anime seems like a waste of time, especially since im not even interested in japan or japanese culture.
