| I have seen a lot of fucked up shit in hentai but this has to be one of the most frustrating episodes I have ever seen. Ren's story is too heartbreaking to made into an hentai. Foster as always likes to act like the good guy who "never meant for that to happen" yet he clearly knew what would happen to Ren by bringing her to that mansion, what a fucking hypocrite! H content wise it's the same pattern of "girl gets BDSM tortured" and "girl gets abused by fat, old ugly bastard". At the very least Ren got a revenge on that last bastard by cutting his eye at the end, it still wasn't a happy conclusion all things considered. |

"Maiden of Despair" is probably the best title this episode could've gotten. As the one who translated this episode (it was left out of the official US release because they knew "she's really 18 bro ;) " wouldn't work with Ren) and came up with that title, I definitely agree. The original Japanese titles of the episodes were just the girls' names, but I felt "Maiden of Despair" was a good thematic "begins with 'De~'" fit with the other titles Kitty Media came up with, like Maiden of Desire/Decadence/Deception/Destruction. Father/daughter stuff is surprisingly uncommon in the anime/hentai realm (compared to its prevalence in mainstream porn), but when it's present, it's pretty dire. Even in all-ages anime like Shigofumi and Sankarea. |
