Nobunogu finally demonstrated the presence of his balls.

The fact that Sakamoto's past was tied to Gintoki's ongoing fight was intriguing. The episode did shed some light on the gun-wielding samurai's background and aspirations. Of course, Mutsu was also awesome.

On the other hand, perhaps Gintoki ought to show the guy with a beam sabre more respect...

I got spoiled early on about Sakamoto injuring his hand somehow, but damn seeing how it happened and everyone's reactions was depressing.

Loved those last few minutes.

Gintoki's wooden sword is made out of special wood from a super old hard tree from another planet, so it usually can keep up with other weapons pretty well. He just orders more of them when he does break them.

I still hate NobuNobu he killed one of the best comedy characters. So no redemption for you. I can forgive almost all the other villains Nizou (got what he looked for), Kyubee (got a shitty childhood and got over his issues), Itou (he got what he deserved and lost his chance to be happy for his own stupidity), Hosen (Hosen was wrong and he knew it at the end), Jiraiya (got a shitty past and a trauma), Jirocho (did the right thing but in a wrong way), Isaburo (he was the good guy all along), Kintoki (It was Yorozuya's faullt), Yaemon (He did it for his family pretige) and even Oboro (got the wrong side of fate), Takasugi (he was betrayed by his best friend and lost the most important person in his life).
This wasn't really redemption for Nobunobu, it was more him getting his shit together thanks to Sakamoto and Mutsu.

Another great e`pisode!!!

Sakamoto wins one the three Captains, with a misterious and action time, but the funny times was to charge of Gintama and the third eye of his rival!!!!

I cannot imagine that one could dislike Sakamoto. Like the Katsura episode,I liked this one very much too.

Also cool to see why he can't use a sword anymore :/

Nobunobu showing signs of redemption, love to hate that guy,but a change would be also great.

Gin and opponent misunderstandings, tho,lmao.

Pakuyasa xD

I'm really loving this arc. It feels way more like a semi serious arc. Hope Nobunobu gets what's coming to him for what he did to Sho Chan.

The worst villains of Gintama are Utsuro ("I can't die so I will kill you all") and NobuNobu ("They told me that I can make Edo great again so I would kill everyone in my way until they abandon me like the trash I am")

I disagree about Hosen. The guy literally turned hundreds of girls into sex slaves and killed many of them and their babies because he couldn't go outside in the sun. That piece of shit deserved a way worse death. He's the worst villain.
Isaburo wasn't a good guy. He had the same motives as Takasugi. Someone important to him was killed because of the government and system, so he wanted to destroy it, consequences be damned.
Agreed about Nobunobu. The power hungry piece of shit killed poor Sho Chan and who knows how many others. He can rot in hell.

No, no, no. That's not how it works. His goal is to kill himself. And how can he do so? By destroying the very source of his immortality, which is the last altana tower left and happens to be on earth. If he were to not destroy it, his powers can be replenished anytime as long as the altana tower stands tall.

If he wanted to die, he should just throw himself into a black hole.

Gintama once again follows this trend to give honour to a villain we saw as the worst type of scumbag. We had similiar case with Housen, and that Prison Warden.

Couldn't agree more. Housen gets an honourable death and sympathy despite the fact that he literally turned hundreds of girls into sex slaves and murdered many of them and their babies because he couldn't go out in the sun. Nobunobu can rot in hell for what he did to poor Sho Chan.

Didn't think they'd be able to pull it off with the serious tension we've gotten so far but it was fitting and hilarious.

Nobunobu actually did something useful this episode as he was influenced by Mutsu and Sakamoto's words. Looks like they are trying to give him some development as well.
Sakamoto was great and Mutsu was cool as usual. Finally we get to know why he doesn't fight with a sword.
This episode had some hilarious moments as well like the whole gag of "Is he a big man or just a big fool?" lol. Also Pakuyasa XD.

I'm a fool for thinking this arc would be a very serious one. because this is the first time I've been kinda pissed abt plot armor. The shogun should have a metal tentacle in him now and Mutsu had no reason to be in control from the brainwashing. I'm glad it's half comedy though, makes it fun to watch like the hilarious ending this ep had XD

"Reality is such a bullshit game." Agreed!

I want to stare at Mutsu's ass too! It's too bad her current outfit is lame. She needs to show a bit more skin, preferably in the arms, chest and leg areas. hehe

Man, I wanna be like Hankai in real life. It must be nice to be able to transfer to any "container" I want.

Unexpected character development for Nobunobu. I expected him to be a flat character.

Interesting how Nobunobu is starting to get used to Sakamoto and Mutsu and is becoming nicer, also nice to get more backstory of Sakamoto and some explanation about his injury back then, well there was no physical fight but it's nice to get something different from just a regular fight, while Gintoki's side as a pretty hilarious start, you mean there's a fat Gintoki in this universe hahaha, but that forehead eye guy is gonna be a tough opponent I guess.

It was a great episode! In this episode we knew what Shogun thinks of other persons and Sakamoto is the first person he admires, I suppose. The jokes from Sakamoto never fails to make me laugh. The fight was more characteristic & strategic.
Gintoki in last 5 minutes were hilarious, even that doctor starnge guy got the wrong image of Gintoki, lmao

Very entertaining episode. I like that Sakamoto is the example for Nobunobu given that he's a great leader. Even if he got the robot out, Nobunobu will have a bad time going to the toilet, lol. Nevertheless, I don't know how to feel about him now. The only way he can redeem himself is if he sacrifices himself for someone which might be the case.

And now it's time for Gin's fight. I wonder what the flashbacks are going to be about now.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!
