| For those of you reading the One Piece manga, and are up to speed with the current storyline I have a funny feeling that the One Piece manga will finally get a time skip. Oda: And as far as something that will hold true for both the comic and the anime, this will be Luffy's last adventure as a 17 year-old. So this [movie] is something I want you to burn into your memories. Interviewer: Whaaat!? You can't leave me with just that! Oda: Nope, I can't say anything more than that now. I just wanted your thoughts on how you would take a possible time skip after this arc or later on, do you think it will be a good thing for the manga to take on a new older, mature and maybe a wiser luffy or do you think it will just turn off current one piece fans who love luffy just the way he is? There was a rumor that oda stated in an interview that a former enemy of strawhats will be the next crew mate, we all know that it will definitely be a women so could it possibly be her... o.O Or Maybe... | Hahah, Sanji in that picture reminds me of Bart from Xenogear for some reason. I'm more interested in the next crewmate than the timeskip to be honest. Although, I'd like to admit that before this arc and what has transpired, I didn't see a time skip in OP's future; in fact I was out right opposed to it. Now if the rumors are true about their next crewmate being a former enemy, I can't see in being Alvida, or Perona despite the cover page story. Alvida pretty much stole Buggy's crew and Perona reminds me too much of Nami, so considering the uniqueness of each strawhat I doubt it likely that either of them will join. Tashigi however, does seem possible. Smoker, no, but Tashigi yes. I can't remember anything that'd place doubt in my mind. |

| Perona would be better i think ^^ But im curious about new luffy. all of the fans loves luffy because he is acting before thinking. Always laughs and dont care about details. Changing luffy would be very hard (and also can be a big risk) because of luffy (or one piece) fans (I think ^^). |

Sanji will be rescued by Ivan. Ivan will transform Luffy and say that he'll be back soon after he takes all the New Kama back to Pink Island, and when he finds out that Sanji is a member of Luffy's crew, he'll take him to Amazon Lily. And let's face it, Sanji's reaction to an island of women would be priceless, but what about his reaction to Luffy being a woman and not knowing it at first? And what about the fact that Luffy has seduced the most beautiful woman in the world? It would be extremely funny imo. 3. Zoro will be forced to rest. 4. Chopper will get those big birds to give him a lift once he manages to stop those guys from trying to eat him. 5. Brook will help those black magic guys (after being granted the sight of panties (I loved that, I laughed so hard XD)), which will also give him more fighting experience and make him stronger and then get them to give him a lift to the Saobondy Archipelago. 6. Franky will become a member of the community on Mecha island until one day he finds Vegapunks old lab, will probably find cola and become his normal old self, then realise the wealth of weapons knowledge in the place, and spend a little while upgrading himself. 7. Nami will learn more about the weather, be granted all sorts of upgrades to the Clima Tact, and then take a while but eventually figure out how to get down off the Sky Island. 8. Robin will be freed but will go back to free the slaves and 9. Usopp will fight for his life alongside Hercules until he can find a way off the island, and hopefully will learn how to be a shooter fighting alongside and in a melee brawl. Third: The new crew member. I'm going with there being three or more new members. Perona is my first guess because as she takes care of Zoro, she'll learn more about the Straw Hats and eventually decide that they're gonna be more fun to be with and treat her better than Moria did. Plus she'll either fall for Zoro or (my guess) Usopp, cos Oda seems like the guy to like pairing people up. Boa Hancock is my second guess because she's in love with Luffy, which will only be cemented if he rests and recuperates on Amazon Lily (although that blonde chick might worm her way in there) and if she loses her Shichibukai status, travelling with the future pirate king might do the same thing for Amazon Lily that Whitebeards protection did for Merman Island. Plus she'll give control back over to the old lady. The third guess for me is Buggy. Now I know what you're thinking, 'if there's gonna be a male old enemy, shouldn't it be Mr. 2?' No, I don't think so. As much as I did think so, then I remembered that Bon-chan will probably go to New Kama land, and Buggy no longer has a crew, no longer wants revenge on Luffy and is one of Luffy's oldest enemies. That's all I got. I'd say the time skip would be 2, maybe 3 years. haha nice I agree with all you've said so far.. That's what I wanted to happen as well =) I bet there'll be a lot of flash backs goin to happen after the time skip where everyone have their own stories of their journey to shabondy. |

| Actually what's far more likely to happen is that Buggy will take over Whitebeard's Yonkou status because of the Marines fucking up and thinking he's an actual threat. Also I forgot about Perona. I think she's the most likely candidate. |

| a few wild ideas from chinlamp ^^ While we can say for certain that the crew members will get upgrades, i have my doubt about the parts with luffy going to amazon lilly and becoming a woman :p So here's my speculation: As is see it, luffy and jimbei, who are currently on Trafalgar's sub will go to merman island where they will hide out till Luffy has recovered. The question i'm asking myself is why trafalgar showed up to save luffy? Now as we know, the other super novas were present on Sabaody island watching the execution, http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/565/03/ Urouge says "let's go", Bege is seen walking off etc. i'm asking myself if there is anything more to that. If Trafalgar goes to aid Luffy, why wouldn't there be the possibility that those other super novas are going to get the rest of the strawhat crew? There are 8 supernova captains, so leaving 7, without trafalgar, to pick up 8 of the remaining strawhat crew. It could be possible... Of course you can say there's no reason for it, but again why did Trafalgar help Luffy?? Other possibilities is that each of the strawhats makes their way back to Sabaody, meet/wait at Rayleighs place and then take the coated sunny to merman island. Then again it's Oda, so i doubt any of the things we predict will come true :D On the subject of the new crewmate: i'm hoping for Perona :D |

Those reasons are nice and dandy but there's still the glaring hole in Law's motivation to save Luffy's life. Perhaps Luffy has gained his respect when they were acquainted in Sabaody Archipelago but Law going at the risk of his own hide to jump in a giant shitstorm in Marineford is just absurd. Oda didn't construct his character to indicate that he would do such a thing. |

I remember reading somewhere or wayhing an interview with Oda and him saying that he wishes he was 90% done when really he's only halfway. I'm on my iPod and won't get into details (might do that later) but I think a 2 year time skip seems reasonable. Luffy could easiy be out for months, could take who knows how long for everyone to get back, if they do get back. Who says a timeskip has to move the story foreward? Luffy could go into hiding around Shabody while waiting for his crew and instead of wasting time on little details Oda could just skip ahead to when luffys crew starts arriving. |

| Well i don't think the strawhat crew will meet up again so soon, cause they news is out that Luffy is dead. And for strawhat crew well as long i can see they seem to be on other side of the world. Meeting each other is hard though, except if they have the paper that shows the way to each other. For luffy himself he is 95% death. when he wakes up he will be a bit mature i guess. |
