Literally got better and better for me, so...

Gintama° > Gintama': Enchousen > Gintama' > Gintama

I'll rank 'Gintama.' once it's over, but if it remains faithful to the manga, i'll probably be in between Gintama° and Enchousen

Gintama > Gintama' > Gintama° > Gintama': Enchousen

Too soon for Gintama., though I'm not very big on it so far.

Enchousen was kind of a letdown, not only due to being more focused on drama, but also because it felt a little bit rushed and disjointed, with one arc coming after another. I was used to having random episodic stuff in between arcs and this was the first time the series left them out completely. And I wouldn't personally count any of these arcs among my favorites.

The first season was kind of irregular in its beginning, but still, most of my favorite arcs come from here. It's hard not to think of it as the first spot.

Yorozuya Eien is right below Gintama'.

Gintama' > Gintama > Gintama 2015 = Gintama' Enchousen > Gintama.
2011 was the peak, brilliant comedy, great art and animation, and the epic Four Devas.

Original had the best comedy. Massive episode count made it a little inconsistent, but there was so much love put into the show.

Enchousen was short and serious. I liked Courtesan a lot, but not everyone likes serious Gintama.

2015, well, I dislike the glossy art style immensely. The comedy was also off the mark occasionally, and skipping chapters is a no-no. SA and FS saved this for me.

Current season- It's individual fights and epic speeches. I like it, just doesn't feel like Gintama. The latest episode was hype tho, hopefully it picks up for the remaining half.

I love them all.

Gintama° Had the highest highs, was funny, and intense.

Gintama' was the most consistent in quality.

Gintama had the most ideas.

Gintama': Enchousen had really well done quick dramatic arcs.

Current Gintama. while I love it, I'm not sure if this season is a 10/10 for me.

Definitely agree with this. For me, Gintama. is really hype so far, despite it's sort of slow start, it's just been heaps of fun

The first installment is still the top for me and still best comedy anime, mainly because it is one of the first anime I've watched and like even before knowing MAL but I still think it highly up to this day. However, I came to realize mostly everything involving serious arc was just decent at best. thus I think the recent two season has been just average.

Do you like Gintama's serious arcs? Because one of the latest scenes has been something that has been anticipated since the beginning.

I enjoyed a lot of the serious arcs, especially the Benizakura and Shogun Assassination ones. I still think its a great series, but for some reason I don't feel the same way about Gintama as I did when I started it years ago. Maybe I just don't like that its strayed from its original style that made it unique to me, where it used to mix in serious arcs among the regular episodic comedy episodes, which I still think was its best strength. It's all preference though.

Gintama's all seasons is good for me. Gintama. (2017) Rakuyo Arc is my favorite Arc now. Because i'm manga reader. Comedy, space, joui 4, Yato's (family and back story), battles and villains in one season. Just wait for the season to finish.

Movie > Gintama' > Gintama° > Gintama': Enchousen > Gintama. > Gintama

The minimum score I've given to any of these is 8/10.

1. Be Forever Yorozuya encompasses everything I love about the series into it's runtime, and does it amazingly. It's animation is also one of the few times I saw Gintama's animation as top class. It's only "flaw" was that the comedy was switched out at times for dramatic moments.

2. Gintama' is literally the pinnacle of comedy in anime IMO. And with the 4 Devas Arc and the Thorny arc, it has great action as well as serious moments.

And basically every comedy episode/arc is fantastic, the Harem arc, The Dating Sim arc, and even it's opining "2 Year Timeskip" arc. All of these were fantastic arcs.

3. Gintama° is a close one, but since it's direction fell flat at times, and some of the joke episodes don't have the same value as the average from Gintama' it barely misses out.

The Farewell Shinsengumi arc, and the S-Assassination arc were really good for serious moments, along with the Shinigami arc. And my favorite comedy arc still remains - Kargura's "Funeral" arc, to this day.

4. Gintama': Enchousen was definitely amazing, and the Kintama and the Courtesan of a Nation arcs were fantastic. But the Beam Saber arc was a hard pill to swallow. I've rewatched these series several times, and one of the one's I stay away from is this one. And considering that arc made up a quarter of that season, it's dragged down by that fact.

5. Gintama. is still a great show, and I love when Gintama takes itself seriously and has some badass moments. I'm always caught up to the manga, and I love the current arc. This one however, feels like it needs more comedy at times. Even Enchousen, which was completely filled with serious arcs, has more comedy.

One of the reasons I love Gintama is how it mixes serious stories which phenomenal comedy, and does it well. This season just doesn't deliver on that front. There are some really good jokes, but some of them just don't quite reach their mark. Although, for all that I said, it's still Gintama and it's a great season nonetheless.

6.Gintama(Original), is by no means a bad, or even a good show. It's a fantastic show, and the fact that all seasons that came after it rank above it just tells how much better the show has become.

The biggest problem I have with this one, is the fact that a lot of it's stand alone comedy episodes were complete misses, especially the episodes before the first hot-pot episode. It gets much better as time goes on, but those first 20 or so episodes were kind of boring to sit through. The rest of the series is a majority of fantastic comedy and serious arcs, with some bad ones still in there. Not to say that the show is bad, it's dragged down by the fact that it's first quarter doesn't compare to the later three-fourths.

Ignoring the Kintama arc, I'd say that this season has more comedy. I mean, the latest episode was full of Umiboners and before this was the Pakuyasa misunderstanding and the spit bukake.

What made you not like Beam Saber? I find it very good in all honesty, it's the only serious Shinpachi arc too.

Ignoring the Kintama arc is the main problem there, that's literally one-third of that show. Also, I agree that this season has more attempts at comedy, but I've still to reach the laugh out loud moments, although my reading of the manga may have contributed to the downfall of some jokes, since I'm already aware of the punchlines.

The season gets plenty of chuckles out of me, but I've yet to break down laughing, having to pause the episode to catch my breath. Even some serious moments I felt were done better in the Courtesan of a Nation arc, than the Rakyou.

As for the Beam Saber arc, the entire arc seemed overly dramatic and even predictable at times. Kondo and Kyubei's involvement in the arc felt very forced, and a majority of the jokes didn't hit as hard as the previous arcs.

I have been watching Gintama since 2008 and for me last season is the worst.(still great but overall the worst)

I still consider the 4 devas as the best serious arc of Gintama. Im not a big fan of the serious arc of Gintama since its predictable but the 4 devas was amazing.

Gintama'>Gintama':Enchousen > Gintama° > Gintama > Gintama.

The first season could have been my favorite if it was more polished. Gintama 2011 and 2012 are the same thing for me, and imo peak Gintama. Courtesan of a nation is my favorite arc.

Gintama° was poor in terms of comedy and did not feel Gintama-like. Only a few episodes were actually good: Animation was very inconsistent but the story arcs saved it for me. Hell, the SA arc felt more in line with the original Gintama rather than the comedy episodes.

Gintama. was great but just not my thing.

I personally feel that Fujita's Gintama was peak and well-balanced in every way. Miyawaki's Gintama isn't inherently bad, it's just not well-balanced. It focuses too much on squeezing every ounce of budget and energy to put into random action sequences.
