Magi and The Battles

Hello, everyone. Are you guys alright? My name is Leo and I would like to talk with you about an issue that it's bothering me.

I recently started to watch Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and I was quite excited with the first episodes. It was a flesh approach with the lore and this magic world, while it has a nice ongoing story, with political commentary.

The problem is that, after some episodes and some more fights and battles (I am on episode sixteen) I am not enjoying it very much anymore.
This a problem for me because a shonen is heavily based on fights and it has many battles, and if it's not hitting the right spot, it can get tiresome to watch.

The issue I'm having with Magi is it's battles, it's so dull, generic,unispiring and cliche. The lack of usage of depth in battle tatics and good/interesting ways of techniques use allied with the good vs evil simplicity is dragging me down...
BATTLE EXAMPLES SPOILERS: Examples of this is the battle of Alibab vs Cassim (Black Demon) and Morgiana vs the demon monkeys.

I love battles like on Hunter x Hunter with heavy tactical usage, or the interesting use of techniques on One Piece and it's epicness.

The story is still okay, but I fear it will become bland and one-sided...

What do you guys thinks about the battles? Do you agree or disagree? Do you think that the fights get better later on or on season 2? And the story?
