Great episode. I love how whipped is Smith for his cat. I love that Kiriyama has people like the teacher in his life. stay hydrated! ![]() |
It will be interesting to see how Rei can turn this around The situation does look bad for Rei Rei was being too arrogant though Rei should have struck fast and hard as drawn out battles favor Shimada And he let his rage against Gotou cloud his judgment as well Must be so embarrassing for him Despite seeing that Rei was looking down on him during the match the fact that Shimada still calmly made his moves just tells how professional he is though. The post match review should be interesting though and as it turns out Rei's approach and how he moved during the match was easily seen and countered by Shimada Too bad for Rei though Rei should never have underestimated Shimada lol with age comes wisdom that saying is always true But Rei will either learn from his mistakes or quit Guess all players want to eventually play against the titleholder though lol Smith sure has gotten attached to the kitten Rei is devastated by his defeat then eh Rei is dehydrated from the match eh lol the fact that he was drowning in the match hmm so Rei is considering getting a job eh Balancing Shogi and school must be hard for Rei though lol PE all of a sudden what a way to welcome you back to school lol Losing the match has caused Rei to somewhat lose his way eh Lol that does strange i guess a high school student sitting alone looking at a job mag while crying lol even more so when considering Rei's position within Shogi As a rising star within Shogi Rei is doing thinks that most 17 year olds won't be doing and conversely has far more pressure than he should have at that age. When you put it that way Shimada really is the image of hard work eh He worked so hard to get to rank a after all Hmm joining a workshop would be good for Rei as it would allow him to learn not just from Shimada but also from others there. Lol the teacher just blew up when Rei kept saying But And it looks like Shimada really wants to invite Rei to the workshop as well Interesting episode Its too bad that Rei lost but he underestimated and looked down on Shimada this was to be expected. He also let his emotions cloud his judgement as well too. Seeing Rei depressed about it though was sad to see and its no surprise that he would be considering his future after such a loss. Despite being only a 17 year old Rei has far more pressure than most 17 year old's though with the balance between Shogi and school being the most glaring. Still it would be nice if Rei joins the workshop though as he needs to learn more about Shogi and learning from a former enemy can be enlightening. ![]() Signature removed. Indeed If Rei had not underestimated him then maybe he would have been able to play better and maybe win. ![]() Signature removed. Yknow I genuinely thought he was playing against Gotou at first. The way he was building up to this match, I thought "Gotou" dyed his hair or something. If this was a ploy by the series then boy was I fooled! Well done. Poor Rei hope he can climb out of this one now. ![]() I'm Bruneian and I like anime. And Manchester United. And fat cats. |
This show makes me depressed. But not because of how "unlucky" the main character is, but how actually lucky he is instead. 3 beautiful caring sisters who are total strangers taking care of him and loving me, other friends who care and motivate him AND he has a big enough brain to make a living off playing Japanese chess at the age of 17. Shit, wish I had a life like that. ![]() |
I would love to have a teacher like him. ![]() Signature removed. Please follow the signature rules, as defined in the Site & Forum Guidelines. |
If it were not for Professor Hayashida and Smith (Misumi), the episode would be too gloomy as narration. He really does see the protagonist Rei, let it go so much, but this moment marks a fundamental point in the plot. I can not wait to see what he will do to make Rei of his life. ![]() |
Great inner dialogue and I loved the imagery but watching Rei after the match was hard. I really missed the girls. This episode needed some warmth and no that rescued cat story was not enough. Not even close. ![]() Modified by huntress1013, Sep 8, 2018 11:28 AM Please support KyoAni! |
That kitten is the cutest kitten ever!!! It was so funny when Tatsuyuki came home swooning over Strawberry and she meowed to the last few beats of the music. How dare you run away in the middle of the game, Rei! Rei is deteriorating, this is not healthy, Rei, go get therapy. And stop crying so much. ![]() Numbuh 3, you've got to get off the couch, you cannot sit in that tree house, girl you like Rainbow Monkeys so grab your little shit and then swing! Hand tracks be tracking me to different doorways. In a maze, and I don't know what to do. Guaranteed though, Ima find the emeralds. |
It's sad to see Kiriyama get crushed like that and lose his opportunity to face off against Gotou, but I think it was an important development for his character. This can be a huge learning experience for him. Some part of his lifestyle obviously has to change as evidenced by his losing streak. Sugita Tomokazu is an international treasure. He's amazing in absolutely everything and I love him as Smith. His cat is super cute too! something tells me the mangaka for 3-gatsu no lion is a cat person I really like the teacher as a character too. He time and time again proves to be an anchor for Kiriyama's sanity. It's important to have a figure like that in your life, especially at Kiriyama's age. Hope he joins the workshop! ![]() |
That defeat must have been a huge slap in the face for Rei, but also a good lesson to never underestimate your enemy. I think we all have experienced an embarassing loss, and this episode portrayed it very well. :) Also, that P.E class was so relatable, lmao. ![]() |
I have to agree with Smith, Strawberry is one of the cutest beings, as if you want to hug it and protect it If that teacher wasn't there Rei would be completely alone at school, good job teacher ![]() |
I HATE THIS!!!!! I hate that Rei get affected too much to that annoying guy (that have connection with that horrible girl) !!!!!!!! Rei should take care of his health! I like Rei's sensei ! I missed the 3 sisters :( ![]() |
